My husband and I went to Golden Corral (our first and last visit) in Dothan, AL. The entire visit was terrible. When coming in the young lady at the register asked my husband what he wanted to drink but did not concern herself with finding out my choice, as such, she chose that I should drink water. We had to walk around for quite awhile before we could find a clean table finally having to settle with a table close to the exit. It was around 1:30 in the afternoon and apparently it had been a busy lunch. The waitress greeted us and we were given a quick tutorial of where things were located. We got our salad and sat down and began eating when my husband noticed a dead bug on a piece of lettuce in his salad bowl. When he brought it to the attention of the waitress and jokingly asked her if he got a finders fee for the bug he found, she picked up the piece of lettuce and returned a curt comment "oh, looks like a fly landed on your lettuce, but we won't charge you for it" and walked away. Her name tag read Suzie. My husband did not finish eating his salad nor returned for a fresh salad. It isn't so much the bug as this can happen in any food establishment, it was the attitude of the staff member that I took issue with. I had the bourbon beef tips which was too salty. The vegetables were good to be out of a can. My husband attempted the chicken livers but they were over fried and hard. The only good part of the meal was the yeast rolls with honey butter and the baked sweet potato and the tea as I was able to get the waitress to switch out my water with tea. The desserts were not of quality, specifically the banana pudding (cookies were hard) and the bread pudding (covered in icing and cold) Definitely not like mom would make. The selections of product was disappointing. Suffice to say, we will not return nor will we recommend this...
Read moreGood morning, I just would like to share my thoughts on this location, from begin a former employee of a Golden Corral in a different location, this one is a 10-10, I really enjoy going to Golden Corral’s for lunch or dinner, but me and my wife went to the first Golden Corral in Panama City, Fl last year for breakfast, hands down way better then our main breakfast stops, but the inside of that Golden Corral was about the same as the others I’ve been in, this morning we drove to Dothan Al we live in Georgia, and the moment we walked inside the front doors of the Dothan Golden Corral, I started to really enjoy the atmosphere, with Christian music playing was a hit, as we made our way to our table and sat down I looked at my wife and told her that this is the number 1 nicest, better built, has more room, just all the way around the best Golden Corral I have even been in, I look forward to coming back to this certain location for years to come, the staff was very friendly and very focused on work and not playing around on the job like most people do, the young woman that checked us out this morning at the front door register, I asked her how long has she been working there and she said 17 years, I just stood there and thought about it for a minute, she’s been here this long at this one place wow, her smile and how she greets the customers coming through the door, hands down a very hard thing to find this day and time in the world we live in today, keep up the great work Dothan Golden Corral, I’ll be back soon ( P.S. I did not get the woman’s name at the front, but we ate breakfast at 10:30 2/23/2024 that woman deserves a raise or something she was hands down the best first impression on this location that the other Golden Corrals lack. ) HIGHLY...
Read morePoor. Very, poor. The first batch of rolls had to be from the day before. They were hard. All 6 plates that was brought out had food allover them. Becca & Christy glasses stayed full but the older woman of the two lost their 20.00 tip from running her mouth. One of the worst visit ever.
Well, today is March ,3rd 2021. A party of four went again today. Not only was it the worse service , but everyone and everything was slow getting put out. Had to ask for refills , more plates. But not only that the woman wasn't coming picking the the dirty/ used plates or glasses so I had to put them on the table next to me. I over heard another waitress telling the one that was doing nothing." all he had to do is leave the dishes on the edge of the table ". but she didn't know how many times not only mine but another that was working that area walked by several times never asked , do you need more plates , refills. Nothing. I believe they were trained at McDonald's.
I have been going to this place for 20Plus years and never have I had issues as I have had the pass two times.
(Strike 2). One of the two we had last time waited on us this time.
Well we were there a couple of weeks ago and we did get a good waitress. She also got tipped well. 25-30%. But yet. The food bars were out, they cannot keep up even with the most simple things. The place is in need of more and or new help. The hot fudge and carmel has always been out and scabbed over. But I have to say each time I have been a little ol lady is by her self running back and forth. So it's not her fault. It's the lack of staff. Or is it the training or could it be that no one...
