The Flour Sack Bakery — Restaurant in Dothan

My wife heard about The Flour Sack from her PT(knee surgery last week). Me trying to be a good husband, she told me that she would like to try so I immediately told her let's do it. We called to make our order and were both very happy with the customer service and ease of the process and selection on short notice. We were on the circle across town so we made it there in just a few minutes. I went inside and was greeted in the most cozy, comfy place I had ever been in Dothan by a very sweet, kind lady(wish I had gotten her name so I could thank her on here but too late now, thank you for you're awesome service). Our order was already prepared that quickly but the case had items my wife didn't mention so risking getting in trouble (lol not really but husband's will understand) I asked if I could add a few items and without hesitation she was ready to help me. She packaged it up, gave me a total, I paid, and left it was a wonderful all around experience. This was the simplest part of this review lol. Skip forward a few hours, we are home and have had dinner and my wife is ready to try out the cupcakes. We both had a red velvet cupcake first and we had to stop what we were doing and thinking about to take in the experience that was happening. I can not explain in words how perfect they were, texture, smell and the taste... OMG, hands down the best red velvet anything that I've ever had my entire life (I'm 33), we then had to try another one so we each tried a different one so we could taste more without eating too much and still try more because we are still both in shock of the amazing thing happening. I got a key lime cupcake and she got a birthday cake cupcake, again we both were blown away by how incredible this all was. She is actually rushing me now because I had to stop then and write this review to let anyone know, who has a sweet tooth or any reason to get a treat, this is the place to go. We will go back in future and tell everyone we know to go try it because it is that great of an all around experience start to finish. Thank you so much and we look forward to the next time.

Ive had cupcakes and other treats from this bakery that are always good so I decided to give them a shot at doing a cake for my husband's 40th. Well it didnt go so well. For one they said send the photo of the cake i want to them through Facebook messenger so i did. Well 2 days later that message had still not been viewed so i followed up with a call and they were clueless of my order and the message (thats a red flag). My friend was picking it up for me and yep it was not anything like the photo and she called me before she left to let me know and then told the girl at the counter about the problem. Well after 3 trips back it was somewhat fixed but still not like the photo and during this whole process the actual baker refused to come out and discuss the satisfaction issue with my friend or another customer that was there picking up a wrong cake. We took the cake because at this point there was nothing else we could do but over all i was dissatisfied with it and its not what i wanted. I definitely will not trust them to do another cake...

The cake itself was moist, but the customer service is really lacking. I messaged them asking if I could pickup my daughter’s birthday cake Friday, the day before the party. They message back saying they have me down for a Saturday pickup, sure, that’s fine. So I ask them what time to pickup. She tells me whatever time is best for me. Okay great. I literally message her back “12ish”. And I get no response. The day of, she messages me a reminder to pickup the cake at 11:55 (I was already on my way). We arrive at 12:15 and are met with the rudest attitudes. When I noticed they looked closed, I told her I had no idea they were closed on Saturdays, to which she replied they close at 12. Okay that’s fine. But if that were the case she should’ve told me through messenger to be there before 12. So we paid over $100 for a cake that Walmart could’ve made and had the worst customer service. Will not recommend to...
