Teriyaki Madness — Restaurant in Rockaway Township

EDIT: they seem to have actually worked to rectify these problems. the weird salmon on the veggies hassnt happened since i left my review. Also the sauce is still too light most of the time on the regular chicken (why not give us a little sauce on the side instead of all soy sauce?) However, over all consistency has improved a lot.

Original Review: What a shame. This can be the best place or the worst. The consistency is HORRIBLE. One day zero sauce at all on my teriyaki chicken, the next time so much sauce on the spicy chicken it was not even edible.

Also why do the veggies constantly taste like fish, especially the broccoli? You need to do a better job separating from the salmon. IDK if they are sharing utensils without rinsing or what. Maybes me concern there could be raw chicken contamination going on as well.

When its right, its amazing. So I have hope they can figure out which managers/employees are the problem and rectify...

I order regularly from here but it seems like whoever was working tonight at May 20th, my birthday (not that one would know but still), was not clearly paying attention to the two cars outside waiting for curbside pickup. I waited 10 minutes past my pickup time and whereas I wouldn’t complain for waiting a little longer it was my birthday and I wanted to get back home with my food. Every experience has been great thus far and usually curbside is done within 20 seconds when I pull up but this time I had to go in myself and find out it was just sitting in the to go area. And no apology given at all.

Edit: Got home and one of my orders was completely wrong and it was spicy which the other person eating it does not eat spicy at all. Really...

Not good at all. There is A LOT of competition as someone who grew up in Rockaway and works at the Rockaway mall. The price for me and my girlfriend was about 40 dollars. I couldn’t even customize my bowl the way I wanted because I was told “we can’t put the orange chicken with the noodles” and the food wasn’t even good. I got the spicy chicken and there is zero flavor, just heat. I like heat but I want flavor too. My girlfriend didn’t even eat 1/4 of her food because it was that bad. Definitely not worth the money and I wish I could have gotten my money back. If you want teriyaki by the Rockaway mall go to sarku, would never recommend this place to anyone and if I could get my money...
