If you are a BUYER and/or PERSON OF COLOR BEWARE!!!! This establishment is deceiving and lacks accountability for their actions. I came to this establishment to assist my sister in looking for a prom dress. It appeared to be a productive appointment. She found a dress she loved, was told it was in stock and would be ordered and we left, excited about prom. Weeks later picked up the dress that was $800 only to discover it was the used dress with busted seams and missing hooks that she tried on at her initial appointment. Completely taken aback while with the seamstress my mom placed a call to speak with the manager. The employee insinuated that no dress is purchased new unless you ask and was rude stating the dress is as is. To add insult to injury when my mother went by the following day to speak with a manager, the manager (lead sales associate) was incredibly nasty, unprofessional, and deceitful. She initially pretended she knew nothing about what was going on then stated information that was said over the phone the evening before(a conversation she was not apart of). She then asked my mother to leave while she was in the middle of voicing more concerns (once the manager stated the dress was discontinued since 2020) because she is a black woman. This place is downright ridiculous and shameful. This dress was almost $800 dollars and they expect us to believe purchasing a damaged prom dress for $800 is ethical and their policy. No one with common sense would ever agree to such. Furthermore, there are constant lies that flow from this dress boutique and no accountability. We were led by the consultant to believe we were purchasing a brand new dress…LIE. We were told it was in stock…LIE. Told it would be ordered…LIE. My mother, father, and I are all highly intelligent people…who sells a dress that has been discontinued for at least 3 years, that is ruined and damaged for the price it was 3 years ago. This dress was not on any clearance rack and was never said to be discontinued nor out of stock until it was discovered (by us) that we were given a used, damaged dress. In all actuality it concerns me that there is a strong possibility that this dress was a resale or consignment (prior owner) unbeknownst to any of us. Scam means to deceive or defraud someone, swindle. To the owner, I challenge you to find better associates and a more professional/unbiased manager to work within your establishment that displays honor and respect. My little sisters prom experience is destroyed based upon the actions at GG’s formal. One more thing if we had known that anyone inside your workplace thought it was ok to treat people of color the way that they did and say the things she said we would have NEVER stepped foot in your establishment. When you were located on Hillcrest, as I was growing up my parents spent thousands on dresses for pageants, homecoming, and yes, even prom. My mother, whom your manager was speaking to who she told to leave (in a bigoted manner)along with my father are entrepreneurs, real estate investors, productive professionals and highly successful in their careers right here in Dublin. My little sister had no budget because there was no budget, and for Maggie to attempt to justify the unjustifiable is unethical and unreasonable for...
Read moreI would give ZERO STARS if possible, so the one star is given by default. My mother purchased an almost 800 dollar dress from this store. When my mother came to pick up the dress, a lot of unnecessary commotion was going on between the three workers who went to retrieve the dress. Confused expressions, whispers, overall rude disposition, etc. While this was off putting at the moment, now knowing what we know now, we know we were intentionally lied to. My dress that the consultant PROMISED would be ordered BRAND NEW(in my size because the dress was too big for me) was never a priority to be ordered. When we called a consultant, we were told we have to ASK for the dress to be ordered brand new? Excuse me? What kind of establishment is this? No one in their right mind would willingly purchase a prom dress that is busted at the seams at FULL PRICE. We were promised a new dress, Thus, expecting a new dress. Furthermore, why would I want to take home a dress that everyone else who liked the dress, has also tried on? Next, she told us all demo dress are sold off the floor… another lie. If all demo dresses are sold off the floor, why are pink stickers placed on the bags along with the school name, so no one else at your school can wear the same dress as you? It is despicable to outwardly have no empathy and compassion for your customers as a local, small business, but it is another thing to gaslight my mother and act as if we don’t have legitimate concerns. The lack of accountability is beyond disgusting. Everyone involved has conducted themselves as a coward void integrity. This place is better off as a consignment store, since selling used dresses is your specialty, but at least give the customers a heads...
Read moreMy daughter and I visited for the first time and found her prom dress Saturday. We had a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we walked out. I find myself playing consultant in my head so many times when I go into a business thinking if only they would do this or do that it could be so much better. This experience was the total opposite - I thought wow these people know what they’re doing - they are so friendly, they work SO well together which makes a huge difference in how well the business runs, and most importantly, they treat customers very well. If their sales people were all with customers they were very forthcoming with specifics saying things like “these two sales people are with customers but will be free as soon as they check them out…” The selection was very good and when I mentioned my daughter wanted a certain color after trying a few dresses on, the girl helping us took the initiative to check on ordering one that she liked in that color. We ended up finding the perfect dress that fit, and yes I could probably find a less expensive dress eventually, but it is worth it to me to go in a store like this and leave with my daughter feeling great about herself, her dress and the experience. We...
