This review is about PetSmart Grooming services. We have had our pup groomed here for a little over a year. Everything was relatively okay before. We had a few situations where they did not follow our instructions but these were minor things like nails being forgotten.
Fast forward to this past week and I realized that this PetSmart groomer is only okay if you don't ask for anything special. If you deviate from the typical haircut or norm is where you run into trouble.
Here is what happened to us. I called early and directly to the salon on the day of our appt to ask if I could drop off our pup 1 hr before his appt because I had a business meeting and we live over 35 minutes away. They let me know that they wouldn't be able to start the grooming until the appt start time which was of course fine but that otherwise it was okay to come in early. When I arrived (just 45 mins before my appt) I explained that I had called earlier and was here for our appt a little early. The groomer seemed flustered and then made a show in front of me making sure I could see that she was unhappy and asking the other groomer (who I had spoken with earlier) if they had allowed my request (they denied allowing it). She then told me that next time I would have to call directly that the employee I spoke with didn't represent the salon but she begrudgingly allowed our slightly early dropoff. At this point I was stuck so I smiled and said no problem. She then told me that because we were dropping off early that we would "have to pickup immediately once he is done", I noted the attitude being given but again let this go. I should have listened to my gut and just not left our pup...
Several hours later he was ready and they gave me a call. I finished my meeting and they called again about 15 minutes later. They were specific to remind me that they cad called 20 minutes earlier. I told them that I was on the way but that I lived 30 minutes away. By the time I arrived it had been maybe 45 minutes. Overall he had been there a little under five hours. He has been there longer in the last when they have been backed up (which we of course understood and accommodated our schedule for). So I go to pay, and as I am paying they come out to tell me that our pup has just had a huge accident and there is poop "everywhere" but that's they are off in a few minutes and don't have time to clean him properly. I immediately knew this was untrue because in over two years our dog has never once had an accident or even the runs. This was a veiled attempt to make me feel bad for not being able to pickup minutes after they called. I was later handed a pup with a slightly wet bottom and back. It was clear that there was never any poop on him. Any groomer worth their salt would have made it right if there wasn't an accident and taken a few more minutes to dry out little guy, but they were off the clock so that was that.
I walked out of the store with my head spinning wondering what just happened. There is clearly a problem with the staff at this PerSmart and how the salon is being run. They seem to feel that customers are an annoyance, and they are happy to let you know it. But the kicker is the manipulative game playing, that was what put me over the edge. I am sorry to say that we are never coming back to this groomer.
And to the Salon's managers: please please please talk to your staff about their attitudes and staff your salon sufficiently so that your groomers don't feel like they can't make it right when...
Read moreWe had been to the new petsmart at dublin with our fur baby bella on Saturday and had a very awful day and experience with staff who calls herself a dog trainer ! Unfortunately in the new Dublin store Bella was a little stressed out after bath and was barking seeing two dogs, this lady who works there walked up to us when we were at the billing counter yelled at us and threatening saying she's viscous and she calls herself a trainer and also 0a volunteer at the animal control and asked us to take the dog out! No and she did not stop there she walked me out and then she went back to the store and was still talking to my husband rudely making points on how they put the dog down. Really lady you think you can keep talking because we were quite?? we dint want to reply back to foul mouths like you and put our self down. And she says she voulters at animal control which puts animals down just because of people like us !! Ok do know us personally ? do you know my dog ? did we come there to party with you ? we take our dog out with us very where and had sent her to good training from the time we rescued her as a puppy. Your one second of judgement doesn't really make a big change for us or our dog. She is happy around other dogs, she goes to daycare and dog parks regularly ! all you need to do is get yourself checked. I saw you being pissed off already and you came up charging at us . If you are incapable of handling work stress go get yourself checked. And please do not call your self a volunteer for animals it sounds awful at the first place and funny because animals have to see an awful person like you. Animals are animals when they are tired and stressed they do act different sometime. You sound more like a psycho .I would never ever recommend the new Dublin stores to any of my friends or Family. I seriously wish i had taken a video of her behaving to us that day she would have been famous by now for her rude customer service...
Read moreBought plastic stairs for my senior dog less than 20 minutes ago. It was too steep and they won't accept the exchange until whenever their company deems it safe from COVID19. How come I can return stuff to Walmart during this time period but not a piece of plastic that easily can be wiped? I even said I'd clean it in front of them ith my own wipes and gloves which would likely be cleaner than when they sold it to me but they refused.
They said they've extended the return/exchange policy but this could last months with me having this useless item in my small apartment. I will now return it whenever the heck that date is and now will take my business to Petco, which I just got off the phone and they said they'd be happy to exchange my product if it was the incorrect size.
I understand policies and why companies have them but a little common sense goes a long way. Sadly, this is a big box store and I know that their management likely will never see this or even care unlike a small mom and pop store. If there was a local store that had this product I would have loved to...
