The Dubuque Iowa CVS in Target is horrible. The pharmacist passes judgement on if she will or will not fill medications. She actual will lie to your face and tell you a medication that you got a text was ready for pick up. However once you get to this cvs you will be told itâs on order. Yet she it appears she isnât ordering it in. Because why should it take CVS 3 months for a medication still on order. Yet Walgreens has no trouble getting the medication in. I feel she will not order in medications if she feels you shouldnât be on the medication or a combination of medications. Interestingly, itâs always pain medications she wonât fill the prescription.
Add to that, She is very unwelcoming and honestly always keeps her badge turned around so you canât read her name. She looked mean while I stood in line. I honestly wish my doctors office had not made the mistake of sending any of my prescriptions to this location.
When I got to the store there were 5 people in line. I found it interesting that the pharmacist wasnât filling prescriptions but standing behind the register. Yet, the pharmacist assistants were over doing something with the medications. Why? So she can pass her judgement on if she will fill the medications. She wasnât giving anyone a consult on the medications. Plus I watched her reach up and double check that only the plain white side of her name badge was showing. She doesnât want anyone to be able to file a complaint with her name.
Lastly, be aware that regardless of spending hours on the phone with corporate, nothing was done about this store. Nothing was done even when I told them to delete my account due to this pharmacist. Instead, the employees of this location couldnât understand anything.
If you get your meds here make sure they are giving you the exact number in your prescription. But the best thing you can do is not fill at this location because you might not get the medications when you need it. This pharmacist and company obviously dont care if this causes your health to change and decline. I had severe health issues because this pharmacist claimed she had the medication ordered. But it never came in. Really? If CVS canât get medications after several months and always claim they have it on order, RUN! Report this pharmacy to the state pharmacy board. Itâs truly criminal that this supervisor pharmacist is hurting people because she is either not ordering medications or she is clearly incompetent. Why should it take more than two months to get the same medication. Why should anyone trust this CVS location? No other pharmacy in Dubuque Iowa had any issues getting the medications filled. Nor did they have any problem getting in any medication they received prescriptions. However this CVS pharmacy canât? Why?
Itâs your health. Be careful. Life is too short for anyone to be afraid what will happen to your health because this pharmacist canât get pain medications in.
If she had a problem with my doctors orders she should have called the doctor. Instead she made my...
Read moreupdate May 2025⊠showed up at 9:45 am to find the pharmacy closed!! If I hadnât recognized the employee waiting for a pharmacist there would have been no explanationâŠ. We are a city of 60,000 but it appears that our pharmacy cannot keep or hire staff locally at our pharmacy. So todayâs opening is delayed⊠til 11 am he expectsâŠ.
This is my second trip in a week to get five peopleâs monthly or every 90 day meds picked up⊠cause they somehow canât get us syncedâŠ. I could have waited the last visit for a few meds to be ready, but it wouldnât have been all that I need to pick up! If our insurance is only going to offer significant discounts at this pharmacy, something has to change!!!! It is one struggle after another, but I canât afford to pay the higher prices! At reliable pharmaciesâŠ.
Original review November 2024.
The company is facing issues at the target store CVS because they have inadequate staffing leading to wait times, as well as issues with their benefits. You cannot use curbside pick up because they are NOT target. So our target in a town of less than 70,000 people has over 20 reserved pick up spots for target shoppers, yet CVS cannot add ready prescriptions to the Q. So no matter when I go to pick up meds- I have to wait to be served, then wait and hope that the computers are working and can scan, and appropriately handle our prescriptions. I've only been doing this since August, and at half of my pick ups they have to start over and use the other computer so that my bill is accurate. And it's not just an imperfect system-- itâs' both computers.
The staff are excellent, but there are only so many times they can say- I know your prescription is ON order- but it's not here- I missed a free Libre 3 because from August through November 7, they never were in stock- and now I have 3 days left and have to use my last sensor- and my refill was due 8 weeks ago-- and there are no options. And they aren't coming in. The CVS system can't keep our family prescriptions together and the system's refill dates is not reflective of our insurance company's policy. Our family of 5 with special needs and health issues has over 32 prescriptions to be filled regularly- and this requires pick up at least 3 times a month- and when we transferred them to CVS in August 2024 all but 3 of these prescriptions were aligned to one monthly pick up time, and every three months a second pick up time. But since August, I have to pick up meds 3 or more times a month... and if I change pharmacies- half of our prescription prices double if not triple!!! so my time...
Read moreI came in to help my fiancé retrieve his prescription that was called into the pharmacy some time around 3-4 am seeing as the need for the medication was due to an early morning emergency room visit. We made it to the pharmacy around 3:30 in the afternoon and were told we have to wait about 20 minutes or so. A little odd, but he's used this pharmacy prior and has had to wait before. We both wait patiently and when we go back up to see if it's ready, while it is, that's when things got messy. While I was waiting for the pharmacy technician to actually help us (bless her, she tried her hardest to be as helpful as she could) the actual pharmacist is helping more customers. Due to close proximity, I hear an additional 3 customers out of the 5 she helped have other issues that obviously took them all VERY off guard. For their privacy I won't be explaining further. The line of people waiting was exceptionally long and both myself and my fiancé felt as though the pharmacist was incredibly sassy, uneducated about the procedures needing to be done, and overall had poor customer service etiquette. One gentleman actually completely left the line citing "I can't wait, this line is going nowhere." It was only after AN HOUR of waiting that we finally got what we needed. I understand the medical field is busy and the substances' being passed over the counter can be lethal if not kept in check. But to treat customers like they're fools while also being INCREDIBLY unhelpful and unsupportive is no way any medical professional should ever act. I give them 2 stars because I know one bad employee doesn't mean the whole pharmacy is bad, and the technician was lovely, but really, this needs to be mentioned in the possibility of any...
