工夫 or "Kung Fu" means "great effort" and it's not about punching or kicking, but putting the work in developing the skill of mastery. There's a subtle deft touch here amongst the American Chinese menu that understands technique and balance of flavor that is truly core to Chinese cooking. Even the americanized dish of general tsos has true skill in keeping the chicken crispy, with a sauce that has a balanced sweetness and spice level that isn't found in panda express. The Singapore noodles which is ironically in inauthentic dish to singapore but truly authentic to Hong Kong is one of the best I've had with a subtle smokey wok hei and well seasoned noodles and curry spice. Don't be fooled by the American Chinese clichés of low prices, plastic benches and American Chinese menu items. There is real mastery in some of these dishes not found anywhere else.

I am a truck driver. I was at the terminal for truck repairs. I need to eat. So had placed an order thru door dash to get some food delivered for lunch and also for dinner. Delivery was pretty fast. Food was 1/2 good and 1/2 bad I ordered S13 seafood pan fried noodle special. There was so much imitation crab, that didnt taste like crab. Needed to have way more veggies and the noodles were soggy from the sauce and was not fried hardly. The shrimp fried rice had only 1 piece of shrimp the taste ok Crab Ragoon now was good. I also ordered cashew chicken with white rice looks good and really tastes great

This is a nice, no-frills, family owned Chinese eatery serving up American Chinese classics at great prices. It is not a fancy place, but it's clean and serves some very tasty food. Portion sizes are amazing for the price, a dinner special that cost about $10 fed me for two full meals. The General Tso's Chicken has a great flavor, less sweet than most General Tso's and more savory. Very good overall. Is it gourmet dining? No. But it's the perfect place to scratch that Chinese food itch you've been getting, for a price that leaves your wallet happy.

I have been going to Great Dragon since the doors opened. I do not know if different people own the restaurant today than from the beginning, but I can attest to the quality of the food and service over the past several years. I've eaten "Chinese"all my life since first acquiring a taste for it growing up in Chicago in the 1950s. No, Great Dragon does not compete with the likes of Jimmy Wong's in downtown Chicago, but for the small, family run restaurant that it is, I find it the best. The few--rare, actually--times my order was wrong or something might have been off-tasting, the staff did all they possibly could to make it right. My wife and I, our children, their spouses and now our eleven grandchildren have tried a wide range of their dishes and we've never been disappointed. I especially like the shrimp chow mein, house special egg foo young, Chinese vegetables with beef, and so many other combinations. The spring rolls are light crusted making them just perfect to bite into with a crunch. A family favorite are the crab meat rangoons and one grandchild, who won't eat Chinese (good heavens!) can eat from the limited kid's menu and still feel he's part of the family going out to eat. Yep, an institution in Dubuque and a restaurant worth...

This was dissapointing. Firstly, was expensive ($50). Secondly, some of it was not good. We got chicken on a stick, and it was barely edible. We threw most of it away because it was so burnt, but I don't think it would have tasted good even if it wasn't burnt. The dumplings were very gross with a super thick wrapper and didn't taste right, and the dumpling sauce (normally my favorite Chineese sauce) was straight up disgusting. The spare ribs weren't edible because they were so grissly and tough, and the sauce on them tasted way too sweet and kind of coconut like. They went right into the garbage. The entrees ($10.25 each) were good. We got chicken and broccoli and pork and mushroom. The crab rangoons were delicious, but expensive. I would order the two entrees and crab rangoons again, but everything else was a...
