While I have never had a stand out 'good' experience here, today was exceptionally worse:
I went to this location today to see what random things I could find. And while browsing, over head there is a few tv screens projecting their current sales and events. today thrusday the 22nd of may. they had a advertisement that household and clothing items with a PINK tag would be 75% off.
As it so happened I found a wind up clock, a Korean 31 day clock made for builders square. it had a price tag of $59.99. which if you're like me and you buy/restore clocks, you'll know that is way way over priced for this piece. however at 75% off.. $45.00 off making it $14.00, a decent price for this piece. not great but decent.
Then came my concern today. I went to check out with this item and it rung up $29.95 ... $15.95 higher than what I was expecting based on their advertised sales. I pointed this out to the nice lady who was ranging people out. and she also was puzzled by this and called the manager.
The manager came to the front and she quickly identified the tag that was on this item was for their 'electronics' category. and said nothing else. so I asked her to help me understand how a wind up spring driven clock without any power cord or batteries is a electrical item. she looked and agreed with me that it's not... paused for a second. and asked if I still wanted it for 50% off.
I said no. I'd like to have it for the price that would add up with their advertised sale. she said nothing further and just paused. and asked again if I wanted it for the tag price.
I nicely said they could keep it.
I am extremely disappointed that I the customer was being asked to pay the price for their mistake. and cemented in my mind the reasons to which I rarely come here. being a part of several thrifts groups I've also passed this story on as to why they should not come here either.
I would not be this bothered if it was a small difference, but being asked to pay over twice the advertised sales price. is very unsettling. and to be quite honest I would believe false advertisement of their sales to be a ill-advised sales practice.
Save your time, money, and disappointment. and just avoid this location if at all possible. I know I will be.
bottom line? It's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the dirtiest most disgusting store Iāve ever visited. The bathroom is worse than a gas station menās room on a Saturday night. The changing rooms havenāt been cleaned since the Bush Administration. It always smells like a dirty diaper, which makes sense as there is always some brat running around banging on an untuned piano or trying to mow you down on a big wheel like Damian of The Omen. Their prices are insanely high. Like a set of Franciscan Apple dishes they priced for over $300. I bought a nicer set at an estate sale for $40. Their sales are hit or miss. Donāt fall for the seasonal clothes sales- they wouldnāt give me a discount on a tank top because it didnāt meet their bizarre summer clothes criteria, which was dresses I guess? So I asked if I bought a long sleeved dress would it still meet the criteria? The cashier just gave me a dirty look. Some of the employees are so rude. I was looking at a headboard in the back room and one of them turned the light off on me, 20 minutes before closing. They start telling you the store is closing about 45 minutes before the actual closing. Also donāt bother asking for help for anything. They have a customer rewards program where every $100 you spend you get a $10 reward. I had $40 in rewards saved up and they went to a new computer system and erased all the old rewards without transferring them. No apologies! Ugh! Be aware that this is a for profit thrift store. They must really be raking in the profits because they are definitely not spending a lot on overhead like cleaning or hiring people with customer service skills. I should mention that they use buckets to catch the water when the roof leaks, and the outdoor lighting consists of one light that flashes because itās about to die. All of the above being considered, Iām giving CTS two stars instead of one because my family and I have had fun over the years shopping here, before they declared war...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAdding to my review. Tonight I was trying to buy a bag with different Christmas ornaments. As per usual item was priced high $7.95 for the baggie. Some items were broken in bag but I saw a few I liked so I still picked it up. When I was ready to check out the Supervisor named Alma (curly hair) said she unfortunately could not sell me the item because it would not scan. I asked her to try and enter the numbers on ticket manually and she said they had taken away that function and for that reason she couldnāt sell it to me. She mentioned item would be ācheckedā tomorrow, I asked for what does it need to be checked? These management ladies know each other aside from work and are always trying to make a big deal out of anything and constantly refuse to sell items. I really hope someone can look into this because they are always arguing with a whole bunch of customers. Especially the Latino Community. Iāve talked to other workers there and they have mentioned they throw out a lot of goods in good condition because they are priced too too high and nobody buys them at those prices. It is a shame because I really did enjoy shopping at this store. I hope others can share their stories here so upper management can actually do something about this.
Iāve been shopping in this store for quite a few years. I want to say as of 2 years now, prices have been getting...
