I've been here in 2021 for paintball a have been new and did couple mistakes all understood but ref was special
And today Aug 13, 2023
I smoked vape (I shouldn't, and it's my fault) in Rest zone, the guy came to me and told me that I can't smoke. I apologized, and we, with no future problem he left us. 10 minutes after game finished, ref from the game approach to us and start asking who smoked and that he got it on camera and blah blah blah. Non-stop talking, and he started treating my little bro for smoking because he knew who did it. I told him that I smoked and he changed a theme.. what a MAN. 40 years old who felt his dominance... Remind you, I apologized to 1st ref and didn't smoke anymore!!!
They hire young refs who again feel their power They don't know how to manage people, they can't explain rules. Main ref dum dum because he thinks that he is cool and doesn't need to help/assist new players. THANK YOU, off duty ref, who played, he was helping other people. Young ref told me that I can't shoot thru the big hole in the building (why? I don't know) 2 minutes after the enemy killed me thru this hole... is it fair ? No sense...
Ref explain that because of imbalance in teams, our team has to wait for 4 people before respawn. He explained so difficult, it could confuse any new player THE WAY HE EXPLAINED. If we would follow his rules in 5 min, the whole team would be in spawn because no more people left on field and we couldn't respawn. But it's my personal, cz we are not dum dum and we understood by ourselves what should we do.
The most important for refs what? Helping players, protect them and watch for fair game ? NO
Most important for refs:
5)They lost the bomb It's just 3 cardboard cylinders... They didn't let people out. I was sweating crazy, couldn't see anything and normally breathe. I don't have the bomb, I said He could search me. Let me stay behind you, just need to remove at least a face mask and leave goggles, but I can't and if I'll do it on the field I'll KICKED BECAUSE IT'S A RULE.
How to resolve those problems? Better organisation More loyal and better trained refs Change some rules Help players Watch for a fair game and make sure that all players call their hits. Because there were a lot of cheaters.. Let players join in the middle if the game, why they don't let? I have no idea
It's the worst experience I ever had 2nd time at the same location, I'll never visit it again even if it's 20min away from me...
I'll better drive 1h to Wisconsin Friendly and responsible refs More focused on players' comfort And it's not an advertisement, it's an experience
Edit: I forgot to add the most important thing. 1st team has a tape on ONE hand. Random tape... yellow, blue, white. Whatever they found.. 2nd team, nothing. I was killed twice by the same teammate and not only me, others as well and many times
You know why? You know...
How to resolve it ? Very easy, it's gonna take just some time. 1st team ONE COLOR (Blue, Greed, Yellow and etc.) Both hands and legs, small pieces of tape on chest, back and head. 2nd team ANOTHER COLOR. The same way.
No team kills anymore, no confusion. Easy peasy And if you don't want to spend a lot of money on tape (but its not a problem for you because you charge 30$ per personfor entree) , make it by uniform. 1st team Black, Dark Green and etc + tape 2nd Light Green and Light clothes...
Read moreWould not recommend for Airsoft and especially anyone new to the game. Took my 12 yo son and a friend. Thankfully my son has been playing for a while and was able to help his buddy who had never played because the staff (everyone except the refs) are from Paintball explosion and know nothing of airsoft. Every question we asked them they answered with "I don't know" (things as simple as which of the airsoft ammo they were selling should we buy)? We got different answers from everyone on the same question. Nobody could direct us where to go - we basically had to figure out everything ourselves and it was very frustrating. Also, the Paintball Explosion staff was difficult to work with. Everyone was on their phones, acted like they were being put out if you asked for help. It was basically a bunch of teenagers who could care less about you or your business.
Once we found the staging area, the instructions were laid out well and the games seem to run w/out hitch. However, the ref that did our safety briefing seemed to have a huge ego and made what seemed like a lot of unnecessary rude comments. Having some of the youngest kids there, I'm glad he's serious about running a safe and fun game, but you can be strict w/out being a complete jerk about it. Also, he made a comment about keeping an eye on your stuff so it doesn't "walk away" (and specifically your pistols, which he said are the easiest to disappear.) We've been to several different airsoft locations and typically everyone claims a table and leaves their stuff there, typically unattended, during the games. We have never had a problem. I was super disappointed at the thought that people are coming in here and stealing each other's gear.
Additionally, Paintball explosion has a ridiculous rule about not being able to bring food or beverages in, but they only follow it haphazardly at best. As a mom, sitting and waiting for my kid - I was not able to bring my coffee or water bottle in. However, I watched a guy walk in with a full cooler bag with no problem. I get that they want you to buy food and drinks from them. And we did. But I think not being able to bring a water bottle or coffee in, as a spectator, is a bit much. ESPECIALLY, when half the staff is walking around with their Starbucks and McDonalds cups. Additionally, if the place was run better, maybe I could just drop my kid off but since the staff can't provide any assistance, that is not an option.
We LOVE MiR tactical and have spent quite a lot of money there. Personally, I think they are doing themselves a disservice by using these fields because had we not been customers of the store before trying this place, we would probably never give them our business. My son said he would probably not go back to Paintball Explosion, as there was nothing that he liked about the place.
As it is, we'll continue to go to our other airsoft locations. Well worth the hour+ drive over this one that is only 20 minutes from our house, which is...

I came from Oklahoma for NukeTown 2013 cuz it's the only accurate NukeTown in existence so far....but their scheduling only allowed for One game in the morning and I wasn't even there for it and they didn't let us vote on maps either. They got the most famous map in the world and they run the airsoft game on this map ONCE A WEEKEND!!!!!!!
The Paintball facility allows Mir Tactical to run airsoft games, and allows the airsoft admins to make rules for their own games separate from Paintball game rules.
This is a huge issue with me cuz American MilSim set the standard in Airsoft - so 10ft grenade kills only if a BB hits you, or ricochets counting or gun hits counting or thunder b airsoft grenades only being useful as a distraction.....is all relatively some bs and a half. 💯 not to mention the two LiPO batteries Mir tactical sold me last weekend were already swollen!!! These Mir crackheadz practically sold me two bombs and a charger just cuz the dude I worked with knew my need for a battery would make it easy for him to pass off a battery that just recently began to swell up.
Also I do appreciate the no-nonsense attitude of the two head airsoft admins, but that's about the only area they shine. Passing the buck back & forth on who made the current ruleset is childish and disrespectful. Grab your junk & set the rules officially or at the least, learn what real airsoft is supposed to be like, by studying AM rules, and jump in line! The Paintball Explosion manager greenlit Airsoft admin Authority in changing or making certain rules specific to Airsoft that do not jive with Paintball.
I've attended American MilSim Ops for almost a decade already, so in addition to being an Army Vet, I am also an Airsoft Vet with more MilSim patches than I have Army patches.
Doesn't matter where I go to play airsoft - I expect all admins to do their job to the best of their abilities or be grown enough to admit & request the need for help.
Overall, PbE needs to do an integrity check on the Mir people. PbE has integrity tho - some kid stole my barrel sock moments after I just bought it - the manager hooked me up cuz she knew she can recoup this loss and fix this issue by reviewing the security footage to see who swooped&scooped my barrel sock.....despite all fields always having a sign that says they're not responsible for stolen stuffs. Excellent Example of legit Business Integrity right there. 💯👍 that's why I give PbE 4 stars but after I see how the integrity check plays out, I look forward and hopeful to adding a star.....assuming this rule issue gets sorted since you'll never see the airsoft admin and the Paintball admin together in the same radius to discuss the clusterphuck that is "they make the rules" "no they make the rules". PbE: 4 stars Mir...
