Wow! I am so happy with the service received from Al's TV Antenna & Satellite. When I called to seek help in troubleshooting my OTA antenna suddenly having no signal on any channels, Carol answered the phone promptly and had me scheduled right away to check the problem. She explained the service call fee and provided me the information for their contract installer, Chuck. Chuck called me in advance to ask questions so he knew what parts were most likely needed for the specific system I have. He let me know when he was on the way and arrived on time. He explained what he was doing with the troubleshooting and how I can do some of these checks myself in the future. He determined the power box for the amplifier needed replacing, which also necessitates replacing the amplifier as they need to be matched for the power. He even gave me the old amplifier that still works if I get another power box that matches the original that burned out. I like how Chuck was so good at explaining how everything worked and why. I learned a lot from him. He figured the final bill for the service call, parts, labor and tax, $230 total. I can live with that as I don't have a monthly cable bill and this was the first time since installing the antenna over 10 years ago that it needed any attention. Chuck called in the bill to Carol and she promptly emailed a copy of the invoice. A great business team between Al's TV Antenna & Satellite and...
Read moreThey install Starlink antennas! I’d put my name in and paid a deposit on a Starlink antenna for satellite internet — then waited months until that company decided to send it, even though my next-door neighbor already had one. Once the big box arrived, I had 30 days to choose to keep it before Starlink started charging for its service — even if the antenna was not installed. I searched for installers, but the first one I called, in Ocala, looked up my address over the phone and immediately said I had too many trees and they’d have to install a $2,400 tower! Discouraged, it took me months to try again (because, if you cancel Starlink, you might never get to order it again). When I called Al’s to ask about installation, the woman I spoke to calmly and cheerfully answered, “Yes, we do that!” and immediately scheduled on of their techs. He had the antenna secured to my 2-story roof and working within about an hour of his arrival. I wish I’d called Al’s first, and saved myself months of empty payments to Starlink! It has been several weeks now, and the antenna works beautifully. I did not have to cut down trees or purchase a tower or other special gear. If I need other tech work done, Al’s will be...
Read moreThis is the place to figure out where to get internet, where to get TV/satellite/cable viewing options, where to get phone/cellular options. etc. etc. Andy and his staff at this and the Williston location have been around for decades and know the ins and outs of all the assorted electronic communications options. The number 1 asked question is typically "What Internet can I get at my location" and the answer is always "it depends" because it really does depend on your very specific location. Your neighbor down the road might have great cellular service, but you may be in a pocket with poor service. The block next to you may have cable service, but your street may not have any infrastructure planned. You may live within city limits with access to fiber, but may not be able to connect due to service issues, etc. There are a lot of variables that no one provider or entity can possibly give you the answers unless they are capable of providing almost all the services you may need from multiple options. Al's TV and Satellite is that multiple option provider partner that is local to the area and knows the limitations and options available for most...
