I had previously had great experiences with Camelot. However, I dropped off my engagement ring on 12/21 to be sized. Was quoted the price to add platinum, and told it would be ready on 12/24. I thought the turnaround sounded too good to be true so close to the holidays, so when I hadn't heard back by 12/30, I attempted to call. The call would not go through, so I stopped by the store. The young gentleman who had helped us when we dropped off the ring disappeared for quite some time, handed me my polished ring, and tried to rush me to pay without me trying on the ring. When I put it on, it had not been sized. Another employee swooped in and apologized, stating that the jeweler would be back in that afternoon and it would be at the top of the list so that I could pick it up on 12/31. I arrived the afternoon of 12/31, the young gentleman again disappears for some time. Another employee comes out looking for a ring sizer as I hear frantic hammering from the back. When they finally produce my ring, it still was not properly sized. When I stated that I would take the ring elsewhere, since they clearly couldn't do the job, the younger gentleman snarkily told me that I would need to replace a shank too. When I got home, and looked at the ring, he damaged two of the shanks while hammering at my ring. I immediately called the store, and spoke with the proprietor, Mr. Mike Pearce. He apologized, said he was unaware of the problem. I asked that they reimburse me for getting the damage repaired elsewhere. He agreed and told me to bring in the invoice when the work is complete. I will update if the issue is resolved...
Read moreWish I could give this business a NEGATIVE STAR rating. After taking jewelry for repair here for 9 years, I assumed they could do a simple repair on my one-of-a-kind sterling silver earrings. When I went to pick up the completed repair job, I saw that they were not in fact repaired so I left them again. Then I had to travel back home to Alaska. I called 2 weeks later and asked if they could send me the earrings to a secure address. I was told yes, so I carefully gave a woman the address on the phone, and repeated it. The woman said the earrings would go in the mail that day and she took my credit card for both the payment and mailing charge. It’s been 10 months and I NEVER RECEIVED MY PRECIOUS EARRINGS!!! After calling many times, getting promises to look into it/find the earrings by the owner, Mike, I received NO CALL BACK. My daughter followed up in person and was told the earrings were no longer in the shop. Camelot can’t say what happened and there was no tracking placed on the supposed package they mailed. Maybe someone in the store decided they wanted them. And no one from the store has ever called me to explain how they will compensate me for their horrible service and LOSS of my favorite, irreplaceable hand-made earrings. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS JEWELRY TO THESE PEOPLE or you may too suffer from a disappearing act with no explanation or compensation. Whoever is running this business now is...
Read moreI brought a vintage (1957) Omega watch with a one-of-kind beautiful solid 18kt gold wristband into Camelot Jewelers for modification. I had inherited the watch from my father who passed away in January. My father wore it every day of his life since purchasing it in Spain and it was quintessentially my Dad. I never knew him to not wear it, so it is especially dear to me.
The Camelot jeweler designed, made and installed an 18kt extention for the band that looks every bit an OEM band part. One cannot tell if it is orginal to the watch or newly made. It is PERFECT in every way. The charge was EXTREMELY reasonable…I felt a little guilty paying what I paid for it.
I highly recommend Camelot for both their work, compassion, and offerings at the store. Exceptional value for what you pay.
Thank you,...
