HORRIBLE! I have been to many Mexican restaurants in my life, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Girlfriend and I went for dinner service, waiter was obviously mentally checked out and did not care. She ordered the quesadilla fajita, I got the los rancheros special. Once our food came, we had no silverware and had to ask for it. Her "quesadilla" was 14$, which we expected a large quesadilla. It was one tortilla folded in half, so only half a quesadilla. No grilled peppers and onions, which you would think would come with a fajita quesadilla. Inside, it was some gluey cheese and an entire grilled chicken breast. Not shredded, no seasoning, no other ingredients. The chicken was incredibly greasy and chewy. My meal had a taco, beef was gray and unseasoned. The tamale was obviously frozen and then microwaved, it was rock hard and dry as a bone. The cheese tasted like microwaved American singles. Everything was disgusting. When we called the waiter over to speak to him, he mumbled a few words, said something about "you don't like the food", and wandered off. After 5-10 minutes of waiting with no explanation, the manager arrives. We tell him the same thing, he brushes it off and says if we don't like the prices, why did we order it? We told him that's not what we were saying, we had legitimate criticism and wanted to help him improve. He asked us if it was the first time we had been there, which we said yes. He proceeded to lecture us that the restaurant had been running for 28 years, and clearly we didn't understand the food. Never once did we get a word of apology. Eventually he just told us to leave if we didn't want to pay. So we did. Never ever returning...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been curious about this restaurant but I'm not in the area often. I visited with my friends and so glad we came.
The location is huge, we were seated right away and tended to quickly. The chips & salsa are standard, but of course we ordered queso sans the peppers. The queso was delicious! We ordered medium sized margaritas and they were huge (order this size, trust me!).
For dinner, we ordered from the combinations menu. I had 1 taco (beef), 1 enchilada (shredded chicken), and 1 chile relleno (beef) - no sides. It was a perfectly portioned meal. I loved the enchilada, the chicken was shredded & tender, very delicious. The beef taco was filling but needed a bit more seasoning. I envisioned the chile relleno would be served differently as a full pepper stuffed but it wasn't and it was tasty nonetheless!
Definitely give this place a try, the food & service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBIG MYSTERY... how can this mediocre restaurant be so busy??
I have been there theee times. It is 1 mile from my house and it seems most of Dunwoody dines here. For these reasons of convenience and community I really wanted to love the place.
However, each visit I found the food to be mediocre at best. My chicken enchiladas were slightly cold on inside even though the plate was hot and they were dry and tasteless... used all the salsa on the table to try to get them to have some flavor!
Very mediocre food, lackluster service and not cheap... special entrees are $25 ... for $25 entree I can go most anywhere.
My suggestion... make the drive to CT Mexican in Sandy Springs... great prices and superb Mexican food and cordial service... try the cauliflower dish.... a delicious surprise and great...
