Lost my business. I came into the shop to look around and found a table I really liked. Went home to measure and show my husband photos. We decided to go look at it together the next day. My husband left work early so we could be there during open hours beyond the weekend. Got to the shop and had a few questions before buying - I wanted to ensure this would fit into our doorway and I wanted to see the table with the additional leaf in it. (Seems reasonable to me) When I asked the sales associate to see the leaves in she immediately asked me: “how serious are you about the table?” How do I answer this question!? I said serious enough so long as the answers to my reasonable concerns are positive. Then she immediately said: “but how seriously are you? Will you buy this table?” I repeated myself and said beyond that I don’t know how to answer the question. I think she didn’t want to take the china off the table to show it to me. Begrudgingly, she said she would ask the guy who does the heavy lifting to see if he’s available to help. With that my husband and I decided to leave. I was very confused by this interaction. We are in our 30s, and my husband is Indian - I don’t want to claim she made assumptions about us based on looking at us, but it really did feel that way. To be clear, we were all set and ready to buy, had a plan to use their delivery service, maybe even add a few things into our purchase. We probably would have walked out having spent at least $1,000. Instead they lost our sale, lost our business, and have a bad review. Customer service goes a long way, and it’s very important to be careful how you speak to people. I am in the service industry and spend a lot of time learning and training others. I think they could use some lessons. Took me a few weeks to decide to post, I wanted to move on...
Read moreI was a seller with Always Home and I had an excellent experience from start to finish. The movers that picked up my furniture were very nice and noticeably skilled at what they were moving. I had very heavy furniture sitting in a third floor apartment and no elevator. They broke everything down very carefully and carried it down the stairs without complaint. Every time I went to the store, I managed to run into the owner who was friendly and knowledgeable. When my mail service in Ithaca, NY wasn’t on top of their game, the lady at the front desk took the time to resend my check. I needed to make a cross country move and I will be forever grateful that I found Always Home. My husband and I are expecting and knowing that my furniture sales were being taken care of in another state was such a relief. Thank you,...
