SEVEN Reasons I Think This Is The Best CrossFit Gym in the Triangle. HANDS DOWN: Best Price for Unlimited classes AND 24 hour access AND 24 hour access is included in price. Many gyms don't have 24 hr access. Other gyms add extra expense for it. Plus - it's still the cheapest Gym for unlimited classes alone! Win-win - win. 24 hour access! I can't stress enough how helpful this is for getting workouts in when you don't have the time to make a class. There have been so many times when I would have just not exercised had I not had the 24 hour access. Plus if you want to grow and develop a skill further out of class schedule BOOM full gym to do so. Barbell Class. 3 times a week. Full programming. But that's not all. That's point 1. Point 2 is that it's taught by a current North American Olympic lifting champion. Some gyms have a barbell class but not all do! And to have expert coaching as a part of it is a huge benefit - and completely free. Every class is incorporated into the Beyond The Whiteboard app! In and of itself it is $8 per month otherwise! (See point 1 and now add $8 of free value). This might seem like a small item but it's actually a big plus because the app is definitely one of the highest level fitness tracking apps. It provides far more workout analytics, functional details, lift PR tracking, in-depth aspects, etc than any other app on the market. Longevity classes. This is a great idea that I have not seen in any other gym. It's a class for older clients and includes stretching and more mindful dynamics, but all of the strength development skills that come from functional fitness. Plus no one is allowed to drop a barbell in the background so it's kept mindful of noise as well! Endurance classes. Classes focused on different fitness development goals that sometimes can include lower weight higher volume barbell movements or movements of every kind. This is a huge plus to offset focused periods of strength development, or for those more fearful of injury under heavier weights. PRVM Programming. OK a number of gyms might follow PRVN, but in all of the programming I have personally participated in I feel like it is the most evolved and in depth for growing your fitness and CrossFit path.
Side points - an additional website for class sign up, additional weekend programming, full side room for during class work, PT provider on site for additional needs (for a cost), nutritional coaching available (for a cost), personal training available, periodic in house Olympic lifting competitions, and over all and in all HUGE ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY. (Not to mention it's appropriately in a grungy ugly strip mall which has zero curbside appeal, as you would want any true...
Read moreThis gym is a gem. The coaching staff is friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and encouraging. The community is a great mix of people at varying stages of life, I've met new moms, young working adults, and students all in the same class.
I will say that compared to other CrossFit gyms I've tried in New York, Seattle, and Hawaii, this gym in particular does a great job with its regularly scheduled classes. The programming is always on point and the scaling is always clearly written on the board. I would like to make note that no one is engaging with you to push yourself in a way that might invite injury -- which is very important to me. Their guidance and support is always towards proper form, safety, and growth.
With regards to the community, this box has a great number of individuals who are competition ready. It really is a place for beginners up through competition level training. The base classes are perfect new comers and intermediate level fitness.
If you're looking to push yourself above and beyond that, the coaches very clearly have plenty of experience with making that happen.
The main room can support a surprising number of people without encroaching on another persons space. I've been to a lot of the Saturday partner work outs, and it has been a lot of fun meeting other people during those sessions. It's always hard meeting new people when you move into a new city, which for me was this past August, and I can't emphasize enough how happy I was to stumble upon this gym.
If you are interested in investing in your physical fitness, engaging with a warm welcoming community, and or just want to have people support you while you move heavy objects, take a class at the gym and don't be afraid to introduce...
Read moreI have spent the summer participating in Bull City CrossFit classes. My true love is running, but even a runner has to do some cross training. Jack has done an incredible job creating a very approachable gym. I've been bringing my running buddies through one at a time all summer long and he hasn't broken any of them yet. He is very conscientious about making sure everyone in the room is using good form. He circulates throughout the workout to check in with everyone and gives sound advice about what you can do to improve what you are doing. He never suggests weights that I can't handle and no one in the gym is egging me on to do more. Everyone there has been really supportive and encouraging. I'm definitely stronger than I was when I showed up for the first class. I also appreciate the variety of class times that are available. I've seen other Crossfit "BOXES" around the area and by far this one seems to be the best. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to give...
