Follow up -
I want to update my initial review after a much-improved experience with Viking Apartments. While our first interactions were extremely frustrating and disappointing, Zac and Amber truly stepped up and turned things around.
They were professional, responsive, and genuinely seemed to care about addressing our concerns. The follow-up was timely, the second tour was smooth, and the lease process was handled efficiently with no surprises. Because of their efforts, we felt reassured and ultimately decided to move forward and sign a lease.
It’s rare to see a team take ownership and work to rebuild trust—but Zac and Amber did just that. Thank you both for changing the narrative and making this a positive outcome.

Avoid Viking Apartments – Worst Leasing Experience Ever!
I have toured over 10 apartment complexes, and Viking Apartments was by far the worst and most shocking experience. If I could give zero stars, I would.
• Terrible Communication & Scheduling Issues: It took an unreasonable amount of time to get a response from their leasing office. Scheduling a tour was unnecessarily difficult due to their poor communication. • Rude & Unprofessional Leasing Agent: The agent we met on the tour was extremely rude, gave us incorrect information about apartment availability and layouts, and made the entire experience feel unwelcoming—borderline racist. • Cold & Unhelpful Management: After escalating the issue, a manager scheduled another tour. While she was more professional, the experience still felt cold and uninviting. • Lack of Transparency on Apartment Availability: We toured an apartment on a Friday, loved it, and planned to apply first thing Monday morning—only to be told it was no longer available. At no point did they inform us that the unit was being shown to others or that we needed to act quickly. • Incompetent Leasing Office: The overall experience was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Viking Apartments should seriously reconsider who they have handling leasing—because right now, it’s a disaster.
Bottom line: If you value professionalism, honesty, and a smooth leasing process, stay FAR away from...
Read moreI’ve been a homeowner for the last 13 years, and just moved into Viking Lakes a few days ago. Any concerns I had about ‘apartment life’ were alleviated after the first night. This place is AMAZING!!!
The Team: Delilah and Bevie are the biggest asset to this place. It’s luxury apartment living, and their customer service skills are part of the entire experience. They are so response answering questions, and go above and beyond to assist with a positive attitude. Same with Fernando and Greg on the facilities team. They took care of my needs quick and thoroughly!
The Property: The grounds are beautiful, landscaped and packed with trails and trees. The clubhouse is full of amenities from a sauna, spa, hot tub to a gym, golf simulator and bowling alley. Minnesota can be a drag in the winter, but I’m so looking forward to having activities to do on site during all four seasons.
The Apartment: Moving from 4,000+ sq foot to 1,400 was at first a bit of a shock moving in, but these units are so well designed and thoughtful! There is a MASS of storage and organization that makes it easy to fit in a ton of things without feeling packed tight. The kitchen rivals that of my previous new construction, and the design of the place is fresh and relevant. Each building features thoughtful details like a coffee bar, clubhouse for entertaining, convenience store and underground parking. Almost all of the utilities are included making it an easy setup.
I couldn’t be more pleased with Viking Lakes, and as a big foodie the location is perfect to get out and explore our local dining scene without the hassle of downtown...
Read moreI do not live here. Someone who lives at VL is writing this anonymously. The low income housing has moved in. And they are swarming us. I’m scared, feel violated and threatened. We have a small underground coalition happening because we can’t post anything on the community app because they police it. We signed into luxury housing and in the last 3 months this place has turned into the opposite. I pay $4K a month to live in a luxury apartment complex only Zero parking and low income housing. We get an email every week because it’s such a bad situation and it’s changing rules. People are moving out. The grounds are embarrassing compared to one year ago. They outsource their management lasting team so what do you expect? They treat us like two are bothering them. A luxury complex would say…ma’am how can we help make your experience better? Try act like we are bothering them?! VL isn’t a place with experience in rental housing nor are they apart of the experience first hand. It is obvious. Lastly we do have a pool..:but you can’t even put your foot in it or it will go numb LOL. They don’t hear it AT ALL. and you cannot have guests at this place EVER because you have to have a wristband, no music allowed and no friends allowed.
The upside? I love the apartment, the door/app security, the nature, they are super great about animals , the walkable restaurants are amazing, the maintenance tea is awesome, the gym is amazing except for the gangs that have moved in.
Moral of the story….just don’t say your luxury when you have allowed low income housing in when you can’t fill...
