My wife and I moved into an existing home less than 2 years ago that was only 5 years old. The original owners had installed Control 4 so, in order to get it working, we had to contact The Loop Technologies. They came out and told us we needed to "upgrade the system" (just software) as well as replace the 2 TV remote controls and one wall mounted control system (basically mini IPAD). The quote was around $3300. Wow! But we figured we had no choice and if we were to go a different route it would probably cost that much to install someone else's system. So we gave them the green light, obviously figuring expenses would be behind us. But no. We had problems with one of the remote controls holding a charge (yes one of the ones we had just purchased). They told us the cost for a new one would be something like $600. We told them we had just purchased it less than 2 months ago. After some back and forth they finally agreed that they needed to give us a new one. Then, a few months ago the Eagle area experienced a power outage and our system would not connect to the internet. We called and someone came out and supposedly got things working. Of course this is after their normal $140 stop charge. Shortly after they left we started experiencing problems with one of our other TV's not connecting to the Internet. Again they came back out and the guy noticed that one of the cords had been disconnected and said "my other guy may have disconnected this when he originally came so I'm only going to charge you $70. Seriously? At this point I'm about done with these guys but then....yeah another problem. This one in our Theater room. The lights are staying on and locked. They won't shut off. Colton (who is a very nice guy and one of the bright spots for Control 4) comes out and says the control switch is fried and needs to be replaced as it's not responding to anything he is doing on his phone to fix it. We get a quote for $368.00 to basically fix a light switch. A switch that unfortunately is connected to Control 4. You getting the picture yet? If you have money to burn more power to you choosing this company. Unfortunately they have figured out that most folks installing these things have disposable incomes. Their stop charge alone vs. anyone else in the industry should be a signal in and of itself. Buyer beware choosing this company. And the craziest of all, I'm about ready to explore spending $3 to $5k on a completely new system to avoid the $368 charge and having to deal with these guys making me...
Read moreThe Loop rocks! I've had them take care of me on two separate occasions. Most recently they upgraded my home theater system and fine-tuned my smart home configuration. They listened carefully to my needs and took care of the smallest details. Their knowledge of the latest technology is top-notch. They work in a clean and organized manner, and go to great lengths to protect the new equipment and the house they're working in. They come prepared with all the necessary hardware and supplies. They install everything so there are no unsightly wires or cables visible. Then they go the distance to make sure everything is functioning correctly before leaving. Very thorough, courteous, and responsible. Just nice folks. I've got a system now that is absolutely awesome. I couldn't be more pleased. So do yourself a favor and forget trying to put the system together yourself or hire someone because they're 'cheaper'. Call the folks at The...
Read moreMoved into a new home that The Loop had pre wired. I asked for a simple installation. I received a $10,000 bid. When I rejected that they returned with a $5000. bid. I was assured that my 3 cameras would work as discussed and be able to record. The young man who installed the system was excellent. However the cameras and their recording capabilities didn’t work as discussed. They now want another approximate $1000. to make them work as discussed. I have reached out to another source and will get what I expected for about $300. They are very over priced and not for someone who wants a minimal system. I would have felt better if they would have just passed on the project. There is literally zero after...
