Busy Beaver — Local services in East Huntingdon Township

Usually when you buy local, you pay more. I have not found that to be the case at Busy Beaver. Recently there was a sale at the two big box stores and of the three, Busy Beaver had the lowest price by far on the exact same item. Needed accessories for name brand power tools and again Busy Beaver had the lowest price. I did a little research and found out there are 14 locations and that they are a member of the True Value cooperative which gives them buying power. So, before you make the drive to big box store, check their ad online and save yourself the trip.

As for customer service, I have been very pleased as well. Recently I purchased stain from the Mount Pleasant store that turned out to not be the color I had in mind. My fault, not theirs. The manager, Mark, and Sales Manager, Louie, worked hard to get me exactly what I needed. Needed help with wood and when we asked if they load it for us we were told “You can get it yourself I don’t care” So we loaded pre cut wood and plywood alone without help. Then we needed a toilet and we were trying to find the one that was on sale on the website. She led us to the toilet and pointed at a stack of boxes and said “That one”. When we went to the register we were met with a stand offish cashier and the toilet was the elongated version and was not told there was a difference with the toilets in the same boxes. She returned to the front and said she would take it off and add the correct one. The incorrect one was never taken off and the correct one was added to the receipt. Luckily, we checked the receipt to see that it was incorrect and the issue was resolved. The only thing she said was “Oh I took it off”. But she did not. I went into the Mount Pleasant store last week after getting paint mixed at the Irwin location. The color was off initially, so I figured I’d give this store a try instead. At the paint counter I was helped by a young manager named Brandon. He was so nice and really listened to what I was saying.
