Valley Dairy Restaurant — Restaurant in East Huntingdon Township

Usually things are great here. Unfortunately this evening, we ended up with service that was probably the worst I've had anywhere in a long time. Don't get me wrong, aside from not having a few things I tried to order, the food I got was excellent as always. The appetizers came out quickly and everything looked to that point as if it was going to be a great visit, like many others we've had in the past. Unfortunately, it was not. It wasn't a busy evening there, maybe a dozen or so other tables besides ourselves. The main course came out partially and before we could say anything to the waitress, she vanished without a word to chat with the many other young ladies that were working. I had to flag down another waitress to get the salad that had been forgotten. I tried several times to get the attention of our waitress as she zipped around from the front counter with the other ladies to disappearing around the corner from where we were seated. My fiancee and I had both finished off our milkshakes by this point and we were hoping to get sodas to finish our meal with. We gave up after 3 attempts. The ketchup was empty at our table. I decided to just grab another off of the table next to us. I don't know if she saw me do this or not but she showed up right afterwards. My fiancee and I were already discussing the service to this point when our waitress showed up. Sadly, we forgot to mention the drinks while we had her attention. I felt like she saw me, so I mentioned the empty ketchup and that I had grabbed the one from the next table over. She then took the empty bottle and a few plates away. We finished the meal and couldn't wait to take off for home. After the seasoned fries, I needed a beverage badly and didn't want to have to sit there much longer. I asked for the check and even that was screwy. She said "hold on, this one doesn't charge for the salad." I went to tell her that the salad was instead of fries and she had already started walking away. She came back to say just that same thing about 5 mins later. We got the check, gathered our stuff and paid at the counter. I had to bite my tongue when she asked how everything was. I just wanted to go, I had enough disappointment for one visit. Ok so i had a good experience here before when i left my review, but when i went back it was not good at all. we had two teen girls working and they would just gossip gossip gossip it was so annoying. food was bland, menu was chcanged and more expensive. so uh yeah i may go back later but not likely..

Previous review: Ate dinner here yesterday, but we actually ordered breakfast. It was surprising in a good way. when we got there there was nearly no one there, maybe 3-5 tables filled. Service was good but there were only like 3 girls and they all looked young, granted they all seemed to be doing a good job and we like the girl we got, seemingly the oldest one but idk. drinks were fine, slightly pricey but you do get refills and the food was ok. Its what you expect from a restaurant not amazing but not terrible. it was nice that you nearly had a constant view of the waiters in case you needed anything, they are nearly always up front or walking around checking on tables. and in the back there is a window into the area so you can see their heads if you need anything. Finally atmosphere was friendly. the girls were all kind and seemed to be joking with each other. Music was a litle loud but not unbearable. and our server once came out with a full like array of cups held above her head and my girlfriend thought it looked neat rofl. overal pretty good, would come back here...

My husband & I went to have a nice evening out and enjoy some of Valley Dairys ice cream and when we got there we were told that Valley Dairy does not have their own ice cream anymore but we ordered anyway. My husband got a hot fudge sundae and asked for butterscotch and dry nuts to be added, I ordered the pumpkin ice cream with funnel cakes. About 5 mins. later they came back and said they didn't have any butterscotch, about 10mins later they brought it and it was half melted and no dry nuts, he told her to not worry about it and coming out over the top, I told her that he needs a spoon and some extra napkins, she brought the napkins and I told her he still needs a spoon, I still don't have mine, my husband had his gone by the time I got mine and it wasn't what I wanted it was just a bowl of funnel cakes I told her it's not what I wanted and she said she would add the ice cream and I told her it's not what I wanted and I didn't want it she gave me an attitude and I told her again that I didn't want it so when I went to pay for it she tried to charge me for it and I refused so she took it...
