4 Star Discount Liquor Store — Local services in East Moline

I don't drink very often because of my job, but when I do I always make my purchases here. The two brothers that run the store are very kind and remember customers who come back into the store. I usually come in and buy a bottle of sweet red wine, since they've seen me a few times and I always purchase the same thing they'll even let me know before I walk through the store they don't have the wine I like today thus saving me time looking. I was also very happy when I was looking for some wine coolers one day and they did not sell them, he asked me what I was looking for and I told him Seagram's Jamaican Me Happy I came back to next week and he was selling them in four packs. Ok so I turned 21 today, and decided to walk in to buy a few things here. When I put my things on the counter, I told the lady at the counter that it was my birthday and she asked for my ID which I gladly gave to her. She then proceeded to tell me that, and I’ll say this verbatim, “You’re technically not 21 until the day after which would be tomorrow”. Obviously, I questioned what she just said, and she then went over and scanned my ID and came back and told me that she basically couldn’t let me buy the stuff on the counter because “I’m not 21 until tomorrow”. Last time I checked, my ID says “Under 21 Until 10/09/17” so in Illinois’ eyes, I AM 21. Don’t go here if you plan on buying alcohol the day of your 21st birthday because you’ll just be rejected...

Adequate selection of liquor, some items were dusty. Prices were good. We were looking for 190 proof everclear and they have it. The cashier was really nice and helpful and knew the stock very well.
