Mexican and Latin American themed grocery store selling a variety of groceries, alchohol, warm food, and meat/seafood. Pleasant experience if you need something fast. Prices are fair, customer service is fast, and the store is well put together. Details will follow: [Groceries] They have pretty much everything here if it can be found in Mexico or elsewhere. They have a large grocery section, they have a deli with hot food in tubs that looks great, they have beer, and they have a cheese, meat, and seafood section! Everything is written in English and Spanish, which is a plus! The store could be organized and faced (pushing all products to the front) better, but otherwise a great store. [Location] Located in a large complex next to Target and Ikea. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Safe area. Easily accessible from Highway 1. [Customer Service] Customer service was efficient. Everyone spoke Spanish and English which is great for helping everyone! . Super helpful staff!

I went shopping at Cardenas Supermarket, friendly customer service and cashiers as well. all, except when checking out, there were only two cashiers on duty, the self-check out cashier was available, and no takers, nobody wanted to go through it, in summary; 2 cashiers on duty, light lines heading to check out, no baggers available, I had to self-bag my groceries, no biggie where did they all go! It makes me wonder. I must say that their legumes and produce are fresh, just brought in from fields. I'd really advise customers to use the self-checkout, it is much easier and faster, there are cashiers available if having any issues or questions. At Cardenas Supermarket the shelves are fully stocked, I highly recommend it. This is my favorite store and the E. San Jose, CA as well.

We were lucky enough to find the deli section open. We perused through the foods available but still chose the tacos we wanted. I chose two tacos with tripas, the lady fried it a bit first, added onions and cilantro and pico de gallo. It was excellent, we liked the texture. My brother requested a couple of carnitas tacos with red sauce. He found it great as well as he was craving something spicy. We brought home a caldo de res, it was nice and meaty. We also picked up some produce. It was mostly self serve at check out and glad the veggies and fruits had scanning codes. Service is nice but they are busy.

Love it here. Just for info I am a gringo writing this review. I am putting this out there because everyone should experience this store. Customers and staff are friendly and joke around with me despite the occasional language barrier. I always have my app translator on just in case there is a problem. For example, A checker went out of her way to find me after a language misunderstanding on my behalf. I thought she was closing her stand, so I got out of line and walked away to find another. She came and found me and put in to be next. She did not have to do that whatsoever. On another visit to the store, A woman with three little kids, let me go ahead of her because I only had a few items. This kind of thing would never happen at AWHOLE Foods. I've almost gotten into fights just trying to park, or have two different customers cut in line. T I am currently playing Forza Horizon Five and it's based in Mexico. The store is old and has lots of character and looks like it could be in the metropolitan area of the game. I have a very active imagination and sometimes I just go with it. Also, back to reality..I should mention the prices are also well worth making the trip. I usually find pretty great deals as well. The local Target opposite of Cardenas had been ripping me off for years, I was shocked at how much further my dollars went. I will post the checkers name soon, she deserves some recognition. I will say she had short orange blondish hair, spoke englis and...

I would give it a minus star if it was possible! This store has the most horrible customer service! It’s over priced, the staff has no desire to help customers and it’s a shame because they’re one of the few places in the area to get groceries so they take advantage of that ! The first time I went there I wanted to buy 3 12-pks of coke the they had on sale. The product was part of a display so I asked one of the employees to help me get them so I wouldn’t mess up their set. After waiting about 15 min for someone to come by, I finally asked for help again only to be told that ā€œno one had answered the call/pageā€ so they couldn’t help me! Ridiculous! The item was right there and they rather loose a sale then take care of their customers. I went again hoping it had just been a fluke. Wrong! Same thing! I was trying to purchase an item on sale and they were out of the 3rd item to complete the promotion. Rather than trying to adjust the price to honor their sale with the 2 items they had, they gave me the run around and I had to wait for one of the floor people to get a supervisor only to come back and say they couldn’t do it. Not only that but the girl at the self checkout had the worst attitude! Just rude as could be! Unbelievable! As much as I love to support minority owned businesses, it’s truly a shame that these folks don’t care one bit about taking care of...

My family and I have lived in East Palo Alto for a very long time. When the store used to be Mi Pueblo the service was 10x better. Today between 10:00-11:00, my mom received the worst service. She wanted to buy meat at the Carniceria and saw there was a customer ahead of her. (Context: 1 particular staff member, more than a handful of times, has answered my mom with disdain, apathy, ultimately very discourteous). My mom was waiting for her turn and heard the man ask for a specific meat she had been asking for countless times but being told it wasn’t available (by this specific staff member), so to my moms excitement she just wanted to confirm it was available with a different staff member before it was her turn. When the server attending to the gentleman ahead of my mom overheard my mom asking, she then turned to my mom and rudely spoke to her that yes there was and to wait her turn (which is obvious that my mom has to). We have received better service at other Cardenas branches and do not understand how the service has declined in the past couple of years. We hope to...
