Stewart Radio — Local services in East Peoria

Last year, I used Steward Radio to upgrade the radio dash unit in my car. I was looking for a unit with a dashboard mike and bluetooth capability and wasn't comfortable doing the installation myself. I came away highly satisfied with the experience.

Stewart Radio is an independent, one man local business. Brian Land is the owner, and told me that he's been doing this work for 20+ years (I don't remember the exact figure). That experience clearly showed when we talked about the different options for hardware and installation. In terms of knowledgeably and price, Brian clearly was a cut better than the discussions and quote that I got at one of the local big box stores.

I was very satisfied with the quality of the work. The little touches showed, like changing the default LED light color so the radio would match the rest of the dash dials and taking the time to walk me through the basic operations when I picked the car up. Eight months later, everything is working to spec.

I would happily use this vendor again.

One note. This is a busy one man operation and at the time when I went in 2014, Brian had a two month wait list for a day when I could drop the car off and get the installation done. I would ask about the availability of...

One of best customer service experiences I’ve ever had have been with Stewart Radio. I called to ask about a stereo system for my daughters car. I had previously purchased it through Best Buy but he doesn’t install equipment he doesn’t sell. I didn’t give him my name or number. Just what was going on with my daughters car and what I was looking for. In the end I said thank you I’ll let you know. 2 days later Brian calls me back and said hey I worked up a quote that can get you a better sub and if not equally comparable or better stereo for witching about $100. I was amazed he took the time to do the work and call me. To me, that’s service and sales. He had a high review online which I liked. And I knew if his quality installs through word of mouth. Needles to say I told him if Best Buy would return the material he had the job. My daughter loves the system he put in her car. She’s 17 and he sat in the car with her for 10 minutes showing her features and what to change and not to change for maximum sound. Great job Brian!
