I decided to give the new DQ a try, since I had a yearning for a burger and fries. This was on 1/29/25 at about 5 PM. The restaurants location isn't bad, since a lot of traffic flows by this area, but getting to the building and parking lot is troublesome. I ate in, since I abhor take out. Small ordering counter and the inside isn't all that big. Those at the counter taking orders didn't seem to know exactly what they were doing or lacked enititive. Anyway I had some coupons I wanted to use, since that was the incentive for my visit to a DQ. I ordered the backyard bacon ranch burger and fries and a drink. Liked the idea of Pepsi products, but no diet Mountain Dew! I drank diet Pepsi and truthfully it was pretty good. My burger was very decent as were the fries. The order of fries was on the small side though. Wasn't a fan of the rap music playing, but they did much it up. Hard to please everyone for sure. The table I sat at was okay, but one feels confined because of the partion around it. Need to loose it so one won't feel so confined. My choice of local DQ's is the one in Washington. Lots of space inside with nice lounge chairs and the ladies behind the counter are friendly, efficient and the whole atmosphere there is so much more inviting in my opinion. Check both out and see which one you would prefer. I did have a coupon for a chocolate dip cone. It was very tasty and larger than I expected for...
Read moreSlow to answer the drive though, so I started to drive off before the worker came over the speaker was the start. When the kid was grabbing the drink caddy he stuck it in my ice, then handed the caddy to me. I couldn’t tell if he had cleaned it off before he handed it to me, but soon I learned he hadn’t as I had ice cream on my hand and car. My son grabbed his blizzard, which was also covered in ice cream, which meant he now has ice cream all over his hands. The shake had ice cream on the side as well. It’s like the workers played in the ice cream before giving it to us. I like ice cream, but dang, not trying to wear it. We had to pull forward to wait on our food which was ok, until it took quite awhile before they came out, which allowed the ice cream to melt quite a bit. I guess that’s expected to a degree. The price for two 4 piece chicken tender meals, one medium shake, one medium blizzard and one large blizzard was $49.96. While I obviously signed up to pay this as I clearly ordered it and knew what I was paying, this place is just too expensive for...
Read moreDrove by the new Dairy Queen tonight located in East Peoria, it was supposed to be opening on March 21st but I just got word that they postponed it until May 2nd. I love that they Incorporated the giant spoon leaned up against the building! It's so fun because we have a giant rooster, a giant ice cream cone, and now a giant spoon all on the same street! Doesn't look like there's going to be a lot of seating on the inside but it does have a nice big parking lot and outside seating with a fireplace! I was kind of surprised that it only had one entrance and you have to go down a side road just to get in and out so I'm a little concerned that there might be some traffic congestion in that little neighborhood area. It's nice that this is one of the bigger ones too so they serve hot food and will remain open year-round, unlike the ones that just have ice cream only and are just open for a few months out of the year. Looking forward to visiting this place on...
