United States Postal Service — Local services in East Peoria

Staff is slow, lines are long and they refuse to cash their own money orders. They also lost a parcel insured for 550 bucks that they’ve yet to pay out on. Looks like UPS and FedEx are the only option now. It is sad because the USPS used to be great. Sick of getting bent over by apathetic zombies.

-Edited to add that they paid out my claim the exact same day I left this review. I'll give them credit for actually paying out on the insurance. I'm still not likely to use USPS to ship anything of value in the future. I'm positive the carrier stole the package I sent. When they attempted to deliver the package the recipient wasn't at home. Instead of taking it back to the post office for the recipient to pick up they claimed there was an issue with the address and it was being returned to sender. It was never seen again from that point. The recipient stated that they did come to his apartment building and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the address. He spoke to his local post office and they told him it shouldn't have been returned to sender. I'm guessing the carrier saw the weight of the package and how much it was insured for and guessed what it was (a PS5) and stole it. ...

Aĺl sraff are helpful comptent & go out of their way for me. IVE been a customer approx 13 years. Their USA postal supervisors shld B proud of each one who is on site working @ fhis facility & the ones who retired. Also, outr current mail Postal driver, Gŕeg, is very kind & efficent as was the previous mailman who retired çant remember his name. B 4 I sign off , theŕe was a Postal gal think her name was Kathy. or Cathy, about ? 5 yrs. ago. Think she is retired. She had trsferred 2 Peoria, Il. P.O. When she was working @ E.P. PO. she went ABOVE THE CAĹ OF DUTY BY contacting another Postal Rep. Supervisor & was able 2 help a friend of my mom who was unable 2 walk up approx 20 steps for her mail & appropriate paper was submitted by her Medical MD but had not been processed? Within approx. 10 days ot less CATHY was able 2 coordinate with the correct individuals around Havana, Il. & mos friend who was ill could just reach out her door & get her mail. I certainly know the postal service is busy and getting busier but the local carriers on the route in question are lazy. If they don't have to get out of the vehicle they do not. My recent holiday experience is send back the customers orders because it's a business that is not open during your delivery times without even posting a notice or holding it at the post office. I will choose Fedex or Ups over usps for package delivery in the 61610 area from here on out. I wouldn't want to cause any health risk to the carrier having to get out of their vehicle to post a...
