As someone who travels a lot, and therefore stays in a lot of different hotels, (I prefer Marriott chains), this has been the absolute worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying at. I stayed in room 321 on November 26th checking out November 27th, 2018, (currently writing this just after 1AM November 27th). First of all, the room was dirty. The person was who was tasked with cleaning this room failed at their job. Dried urine on the toilet, water spots on the faucet, a previous occupants dirty sock in next to the window....honestly I should have checked the sheets for filth before we went to sleep as I wouldn't be surprised if he/she cut corners and didn't change the sheets either. The, "blackout," curtains fail to block out the flood lights outside the building, it's like someone left a computer monitor on - literally my picture doesn't do it justice - it is that much light. Then the heater is loud! And the room is so ridiculously hot that my kid is sleeping half naked with wet wash rags on her! It's 21 degrees out, I don't need it to be 80 degrees while I'm attempting to sleep. Then the beds - they are awful. They are soft and when you sit on them you will easily sink down and practically fall off. This happened with everyone in my family, regardless of size. Sleeping on the edge with a hot, restless child, and you're seconds away from being on the floor. Then I called the front desk from my cell phone while in the bathroom and he kept interrupting saying he couldn't hear me and to call from the room phone. Really? I was talking in a normal tone/loud voice and he wants me to call from the phone in the room where my family is finally asleep? And then what? Whisper? How on earth will he hear me over the ridiculously loud intermittent noise coming from the heater where we are being roasted???
Thank God it is only one night...1:35AM and if I were alone, I'd pack up and leave. I feel sorry for anyone who would be subjected to this environment for longer than that. Do...
Read moreWould have received higher rating except for one important issue. Made me rethink entire visit. Beds were not the best. Few tv channels. Pool is just a large bath tub. Breakfast is ok. Hard boiled eggs from a jar or bag, flavorless scrambled eggs, sausages ok. Lot of breads and cereals. Did have almond milk though. Service was good up till biggest issue. My 11 yr old daughter left two very special stuffed animals there by accident. We realized this the next morning. I called and was told by the laundry person that nothing was turned in, but they would call back. I called back a couple hours later and was told that the room was rolled on Sunday, after we left, but not cleaned and the animals were not there. Three people in my party know they were. So, I called back one more time a couple hours later and was told by the woman that she thought they were found. She came back a few mins later and told me she was wrong. I explained these were sentimental items and even have a slightly "haunted" history. We know they were there. This tells me that someone took them or at the very least, just threw them out There was one small bag in their small trash can of garbage, 4 empty water bottles that would not fit, and maybe two coffee cups in the room. The animals were on the bed. When this has happened before, I have had hotels send me the items at their expense even. I cannot trust this hotel because of this. I would recommend if you stay to take the barest minimum of things and take them with you anytime you leave. My daughter is down because of this. But the attitude I got was, "Sorry, nothing we can do." We could have stayed at a Super 8 for way less and will do that next time, since I have received nothing but great service from any I...
Read moreOur stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites was one to remember. We booked the Fairfield inn on Dec 13 & 14 2024 for my wedding night even though yes, I am an East Peoria resident, but we needed a place for my bridal party and I to stay for my wedding, as well as a suite for my husband and I to stay on our wedding night. The Fairfield inn was the most accommodating for us in what we needed out of any of the hotels in the East Peoria area (which there are a lot). They were Very accommodating in what I was needing especially for the day of my big day, which was for us ladies to get ready. They were okay with us getting ready where ever needed. The lobby in the morning was so nice and warm. I sat down by the fireplace and had my morning coffee for a little while by myself to reflect on my big day. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was hot and really good. My favorite part was the gentleman working the desk both nights. He was super friendly to my girlfriends and I, and even gave my girlfriends a free midnight snack (they were very excited) The night of the wedding my newly husband and I chatted with him for probably a good 30mins just chatting away like we had known him forever. He was even kind enough to take a photo with us! He is why our stay was the best! The only negative part I will add is that we were pretty disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t working. My husband and I were very much looking forward to sitting in it for a few mins to wind down after our big day.. I still gave this stay a 5 star bc I will always remember the kindness the staff were...
