At a first glance it seems to be a little dated and to that inviting. You quickly learn to love this shop.

There is a constant stream of new arrivals, prices are very fair, selected new vinyls are available and being sold at competitive prices, and the staff is just a very lovable bunch of vinyl lovers. I have been to many shops where vinyls are overpriced or incorrectly labeled to drive the price. I never doubt this shop, very trustworthy!

The owner and staff have built a very loyal customer base who keep coming back because this shop will never BS you, is very customer-centric and remains as quirky as a good dad joke (which we all love, even if we do not want to admit it).

The staff has decades of experience and can help you with questions, recommendations or good anecdotes. The more they got to know me and my taste, the more I received very pointed recommendations or they held back some records for me. And they hardly ever fail to hit my taste on the spot. That includes Souljazz and Reggae.

This is one of my favorite places to dig for records! I think it’s impossible to spend the day there and go through everything there’s just a lot to be found. The owners are extremely nice, passionate about music, and just fantastic people. They have a fantastic, jazz collection lots of classic rock and just about everything. You can even find some cool reggae gems here. They run a special on used records on Wednesdays but if you shop there enough, the owners take care of you. I can’t say enough how precious this place is. They have a great budget bin but just keep in mind. Some of those records may be a little dusty… but if you clean them properly, they are mostly not scratched, and we’ll play perfectly. If you pay attention to the quality of the records, their budget bins have some gems! Don’t be scared off by dust. That’s what it record...

Shady Dog is an oasis in this streaming world and what an oasis !!!! A small living- roomed size area full of old vinyl....old CD's and a select cross section of brand new release CD's.......these guys have the connections to get you anything musically if they don't have it in stock....not fancy....no frills....won't break the bank.....are super knowledgeable about the rock world new and old and all other genres as well.....love this little gem of a record shop...they are awesome.
