First time visiting this establishment and LAST. I am Mexican so I was expecting authentic Mexican food. Not the case here. I ordered the most basic dish and they couldn't get it right. The pico de Gallo was sloppy, not balance at all. The beans used was questionable (like a water down version of Chipotle) the cheese used reminded me of Costco brand, not real cheese but imitation cheese. The sour cream, I'm not even sure what that was on top of my burrito. The tortilla used, all wrong. And the biggest insult to the point I almost went back to demand my money back was the steak. Not only was it pre cooked (and over cooked) it was marinated in soy sauce!!!! And just to make sure I didn't imagine it, I asked a friend to taste it. He also confirm and joked asking if it was a Chinese restaurant. Who in his right mind marinates steak with soy sauce and calls it Mexican?! Even the cut of steak was wrong! Here's the thing folks. When it was suggested that I try this place, the first red flag to me was the name. Uncle Mexican restaurant. That name doesn't make sense does it? Second red flag was the price of the food. It was just over double what any "Authentic Mexican" restaurants charge. When I arrived to pick up my food and asked for sides, that was the third red flag..... they are most common with Mexican food and the didn't have it EVER. I knew this was going to be a...

The reviews of this place definitely are not the same as my experience. My girlfriend and I went super hungry and optimistic about authentic tacos. When we arrived, the hostess/ waiter very bluntly asked if we will be taking out or eating in. When we said eating in and asked if we could sit outside he copped an attitude saying “well it might take me a minute to get outside” with 2 whole other parties inside. When ordering, I ordered my 3 chorizo tacos and chips and pico. My girlfriend ordered 2 ground beef tacos with only lettuce, cheese and tomato ( they can’t do tomatoes alone, only pica.). So just cheese and lettuce was fine. The ground beef tacos were topped with easily a whole cup of cheese, that was mostly taken off anyways. he also didn’t tell us the price of cheese on 2 tacos that was an additional $2.00 . When I got my chorizo tacos there was so much grease that one of tacos was broken when I picked it up and one of the others has meat far too big to be on a taco. The chips also were trash, full of grease all broken and unsalted. So attached are the photos of the food. Would I ever come back to this place? Probably not. Would I tell others to come to this place? Definitely not. Will steer...

One of better Mexican restaurants on the Bland Line, but service here is WHACK. Why offer free dine-in margaritas if you don't wanna offer them to customers?? Been here tons of times before since I live down the street, but had issues today during a lunch break when I brought co-workers to dine-in for the special.

Our server didn't even offer us a margarita when asking for drinks and we had to ask for it. And he said the "free margaritas" require a $12 minimum purchase...as if he assumed we weren't gonna order food at all, and despite the sign in the window that says nothing about this, and me calling ahead to ask if the drink special was still on (and no one mentioned this). When I said that the drink special didn't require a minimum the last time I was there, the waiter just said "Well that was the last time you came," with an attitude and no apology/explanation. Then he just walked off without even trying to take our orders.

All that over a "free" margarita. If you don't want to give it to diners then stop...

My husband and I are foodies and are always looking for new places to try. We first tried Tio about a year and a half ago when we moved to Berwyn, and we’ve been hooked ever since. They have the best Mexican food in the area, hands down. We usually eat here several times a month, sometimes twice in one week. They have the best al pastor tacos I have ever had (and al pastor is my absolute favorite). When I order it anywhere else I end up wishing I had gotten Tio instead. And if you’re a pineapple fan like me, their piña fajita is filled with flavor. My husband especially loves their barbacoa and says it is truly the best he’s ever had. In short, we have loved every single thing we’ve tried here. We also love that they’re a small establishment with a very relaxed atmosphere and great service. We also order for pick up and the food is just as good to go, but we really do love dining in. If we ever move out of Berwyn we will travel any distance to return to Tio!!!

Food- 5/5 Service- NA Atmosphere- 5/5 Drinks- NA Value- 4/5 This small Mexican restaurant is a hidden secret. I stopped by and ordered tacos of the pastor, carnitas, and steak to try them all. Also ordered the chips and guacamole. They were all really good. Loved how juicy and tender the carnitas were; the meat fell apart in my mouth and was seasoned perfectly. I could have eaten just a bowl of the pulled pork. The pastor is cooked with pineapple and onions and how a little sweetness that blended in with the spicy kick. Honestly I like the steak the least. Still had good flavor, but tended to be more dry. The chips and guacamole were simple but good. I could have used a little more flavor, maybe a little more lime, but really pretty good. And the chips had good bite. Overall, really happy to have found this place and will definitely be going back for more carnitas (pulled pork) tacos. By far my favorite.
