Over the past two weeks, I have had the privilege to meet and get to know an extraordinary person who works in the Berwyn Verizon location. Her name is Emily Warburton. On April 10th I visited the Verizon store because I was having problems with my old iPhone and wanted to inquire about getting a new one. I was immediately greeted with a smile by Emily, and she patiently listened as I explained the trouble I was experiencing with my iPhone. She then showed me a Google Pixel and an iPhone 8, and explained their differences. I am not a tech person, so I peppered her with questions and she calmly answered each one.
I decided to be bold and went with the Google Pixel, and Emily insisted that I call her anytime if I had questions or difficulties. Of course, not being a techie there was a learning curve with the new phone. So, I called Emily and she once again patiently answered my questions and guided me through step-by-step what I should do. And I did this more than once and even visited the store, and each time she encouraged me and gently walked me through whatever issue I was experiencing.
As I said, technology is not my thing, and I grew frustrated with the Google Pixel. It’s a great phone, but I’ve had an iPhone for years and am comfortable with it so I decided to switch back and get an iPhone 8. I called Emily and told her my decision. No problem, she said, and we arranged for me to make the switch after I got off work one day. When I arrived at the store around 5pm to make the switch on the appointed afternoon, I learned, quite by accident, that Emily’s shift ended at 3pm that day due to a change in her schedule. She could have called and cancelled the appointment, which would have been fine, but she stayed. She knew how much I wanted to make the switch, so she sacrificed her time to meet a customer’s need. She went above and beyond her duty.
Sadly, it is increasingly rare to find quality customer service. Not only was Emily kind and courteous, and extremely knowledgeable, she was also personal. More than anything, I enjoyed just talking with her. She made each visit a pleasure, and she listened to my stories and always made me feel valued.
I will definitely recommend the Berwyn Verizon location, and especially Emily, to anyone who is looking for a phone. And I’m very pleased with my new iPhone 8. But if a problem arises, I know I can count on Emily to be there for me. That’s what I call customer service.
Sincerely,
Nancy, a very...
Read moreMy wife was not familiar with the upgrade procedure and although many numbers were written down for her she asked a very simple question, "how much extra will my bill be". The answer was 6 dollars. That was it. However the real answer is 31 dollars as she was currently getting 25 dollars discount with your out of contract current phone. When asked a clear question the answer was not clear. She didn't understand all the numbers quoted which is why she asked the very simple question. Also when asked if this was the same as the corporate store he said exactly the same. This is not actually true. At the corporate store you can trade in the phone without issue. When we went back to discuss this issue he also said that my wife didn't want to trade in her phone at the time but in fact he admitted that she had originally asked that but said instead she could get more by going online. I don't think this is true unless they don't get the same trade in value as a corporate store,, hence see point above. I feel my wife was taken advantage in the interests of making the sale. I personally had a much more thorough experience going direct to a corporate store to...
Read moreDo not under any circumstances buy devices in this location. High pressure sales tactics. “Mistakes” made in giving devices without the correct amount of storage (they said they were giving me the same phone I had, but gave me one with less storage). Inaccurate “deals” put on the account that resulted in higher charges than what was explained. When I called to ask what was going on, they told me to call the customer care line - sat on the phone with customer care for close to four hours who couldn’t figure out what this store location had done to my bill. This all started in February. It’s May now and they are “still waiting on an answer” as to why my bill was $200 before I met them and shot up over $1000 after I met them. I feel forced to pay it - even though they have admitted it was their mistake - to keep my phone turned on. Don, and Gene - stay away from them. I’ve asked to speak with the “marketing manager,” who should have been proactively calling me. Stay away!! The same manager who owns this location also owns the...
