If you are considering purchasing a treadmill, or any exercise equipment for that matter, Ocean Fitness should be your first and only consideration and I think this review will convince you why.

My NordicTrak treadmill died after more than a decade. It was a horrible brand that I would not recommend to anyone as I spent considerable money over the years in getting it repaired.

I researched a replacement, found a brand I liked, and went shopping at another fitness store in the Ocean Twp. area. I found the brand I wanted and placed an order with the store, but within 8 hours, I canceled it. I had done additional research online and discovered hardware issues with the treadmill I had just chosen. It was then that I decided I didn't want a department store brand treadmill and sought to find something better...

I have read many positive reviews about Ocean Fitness Equipment in Eatontown, particularly its owner. I decided to stop by to see what they had to offer, walked into the store, and met Ralph Herzig, who was extremely friendly and personable.

I told Ralph what I was looking for at what price point and he immediately steered me toward a treadmill made by Spirit, a company I was completely unfamiliar with. It wasn't until I went home, did some research, and found that Spirit is made by the same company that makes Sole treadmills. Spirit is considered the premier brand with better specs (larger rollers and better motor) and features one of the best warranties in the business.

I went ahead and purchased the Spirit XT385.

Here is where I will convince you that Ocean Fitness should be the only place you should consider shopping for exercise equipment...

The price Ralph quoted me on the treadmill was in line with other retailers and came to $500 under what Amazon was selling it for.

The cost of delivery, installation, setup AND hauling away my old treadmill was crazy cheap. I don't want to quote the price as it could change based on circumstances, but let's say I couldn't believe they would do all that for next to nothing.

They delivered within days. Two guys delivered the treadmill, set it up, and made certain it was operational. They hauled away my old treadmill and all the packing material. These guys were completely professional and were exceptional in completing the job.

It gets better...

In the first few days of ownership, I had issues with the belt scratching the running deck. I was scared to adjust the belt, thinking I would make it worse. I went to visit Ralph to ask his advice. He immediately hopped into his truck and came to my house to adjust the belt AT NO CHARGE. He also took the time to show me how to properly adjust it next time it went out of whack, and now I feel very comfortable about doing it myself.

Ralph commented that it's important for him to take care of his customers. He proved those weren't just words. I am confident that if I have any issues with this treadmill, he will be there to support my purchase. He even made himself available to come over to my home to do a yearly clean/checkup at a very fair fee. He told me he makes house calls all the time.

First of all, the owner Ralph, was an incredibly nice and friendly guy! I was so happy to have found Ralph and Ocean Fitness Equipment in my search of weights during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Because of the pandemic, everyone (including myself) had been looking to build their own home gym. Due to the high demand, everything from weights, treadmills, etc have all been sold out everywhere. I called up at least 8 gym equipment stores in NJ and every store said it would be AT LEAST a 1.5-2 month wait. However, when I called Ocean Fitness, Ralph said he had a big shipment coming in and would be able to get it for me within 2 weeks! Not just that, but the pricing was AMAZING! Due to the high demand, every store I spoke to hiked up their prices. Ralph, however, is not one of these greedy, money hungry owners and kept his pricing the same as before the pandemic began. I was so happy and immediately gave my deposit. It was a 45 minute drive from me, but it was well worth it.

After around 2 weeks, my weights arrived just like Ralph had promised. The weights were BEAUTIFUL and exactly what I was looking for. They were rubber coated Olympic plates with grips and I absolutely love them. And because of Ralph's great pricing, I was also able to fit in some dumbbells into my budget! I will definitely be purchasing more weights from Ocean Fitness in the future!

Last month I was in the market for some exercise equipment so a friend recommended that I go to Ocean Fitness Equipment because he had a good experience with them. They had a great selection to choose from and the salesmen were extremely knowledgeable and polite. I purchased a treadmill, a recumbent bike, a home gym, and a set of free-weights. Before delivery, a salesman came to my house and measured the room to make sure the equipment would fit. The equipment was delivered in 3 days. While they were at my home, they checked out my broken stepper and suggested what I needed to do in order to fix it and they didn't charge me for checking it out. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants good quality and good service.
