T.J. Maxx — Local services in Eau Claire

I really want to give this place a lower rating, just because of how much I really don't like shopping at T.J. Maxx. The only reason I ever step through the doors is because of how much my wife likes it. I can't even put my finger on why I don't like it. Maybe it's just that it all feels so cheap (says the guy in a thrift shop t-shirt and torn/stained shorts). I really can't place it. But something about it goes against my standard shopping sensibilities...of which I have few. All the same, I'll admit that I get really excited when I see their big tins of jelly beans and I have definitely purchased more than a couple items of clothing which outlived their expected life spans...and it was all mighty cheap. So, it's a good place, and as far as TJ Maxx's go, this one seems to be a bit better than others I've been in...but don't tell...

This is very important: being someone who is gender non-conforming, I get no gender-policing or side-eye when I use the restroom or dressing room. Thank you, TJ Maxx, you have no idea how much more comfortable that makes shopping! Although I'm still nervous every time I want to try something on.

This is my favorite place to shop. They have a good selection of quality and fashionable clothes, toys, pet supplies, and bedding. Most things are marked down to an affordable price. I think the furniture is still a little expensive. Funny thing too is that TJ Maxx in Europe (i.e. TK Maxx) has most of the same stuff! The store seems to be managed well. It's clean and neat, and the employees...

It was my first time in the store. It seems like most of it is clothing, but they also have some home furnishings, decor, a few kitchen and cleaning gadgets. I spent practically 2 hours of shopping time to get a good feel for whether I'll be back as a return shopper. I have decided that one has to know in advance how much you're willing to spend and know what the market prices are in other stores. Some of their merchandise is priced high and I feel your money is better spent elsewhere. On the other hand, I founds a comforter and some hand towels that I could not leave the store without purchasing them. I feel they were affordable and have lots...
