WARNING no returns without a hassle. As someone new to the area, I received a $10 gift certificate in the mail. I purchased a special lightbulb for $12.99 and paid the $3 and change due after the $10 gift certificate was applied. The light bulb did not work for what I needed it for. I had my receipt and when I tried to return the bulb, less than 24 hours later, I was told that I would NOT get the $10 gift certificate credit back. What? Why offer a gift certificate if the customer can't return the item and get the $10 gift back? I just wanted to purchase something else at another time. The employees told me that the owner said not to give the gift certificate money back even upon return with receipt. I left upset about this policy and after the multiple requests to return when the owner is there. Not convenient for me but I turned around and walked back into the store asking to see this policy. At that point, an employee gets the owner on the phone. The employee then tells the owner "this lady is upset. She'll explain" and he hands me the phone saying " this is EJ. He's really nice" I explain my situation that I just want the money back the way I originally paid and that because he is the owner, the employees are telling me it's his decision. He proceeded to stammer and say "ummm can you come back tomorrow"? He relays that he is not the owne but a manager and can't approve such request. This is completely ridiculous šÆ I paid with part gift certificate and part cash. Upon return of item with receipt, I should have gotten the $10 gift certificate and the cash but nope I have a lightbulb I can't use and I'm out the $3 and change plus I've lost out on the $10 gift. I get harassed by the existing & new staff every other couple of weeks when the owner is there or not there all because I carry a backpack with my keys, wallet, phone, & medications that I need. They want me to leave it with them, but would you leave it with a stranger? Tell me whatās the difference between a very small backpack & a womenās large to medium handbag š or purse š? The staff is so rude about it & I notice when I dress in a hoodie, workout pants, hat, & sun glasses I get profiled every more. You would think by now they would respect a long time customer. No they donāt care! The products here are more expensive then Homedepot or Lowes, but I like the convenience of it. I get it I look like a mixed hip dude, when in actuality I have multiple science degrees & could buy anything. I just chose to dress comfortable & put my personal things I need into something that fits them securely. I donāt have this issue anywhere else when it comes to doing business. So I went to Publix to get my dog food along with the birdseed that I feed the wild birds with & the cat food to the local stray cats that people abandon. Yet Iām the bad person in their eyes. When the hurricanes hit I spent dollar after dollar in this store to help neighbors out and didnāt ask for a dimeI back not for one thing. Ā Ā Ā Read moreEXCELLENT SELECTION..this is the 5th place I went to for metric fasteners and they had exactly what I needed M5X0.8X80MM daytona nut and bolt doesnt serve retail customers anymore, homedepot didnt have anything and i went to 2 other hardware stores and tractor supply with no luck.
this was my last stop after hours driving from store to store looking for metric fasteners. they actually had them but what they had more was excellent customer service and if your a reader of reviews you know I do not like this epidemic of no customer service.
TRUE VALUE however has PHENOMENAL customer service. greeted the moment my foot came inside the door, asked of I needed help. a woman who cut a key for me also found the M5X0.8X80mm fastener I couldnt find. I ended up buying a trailer hitch lock and getting a key made because the service was so quick. last time I had a key cut I waited I side homedepot to spot a worker and when I finally called a manager they didnt even have the key blank!
True value will be my 1st stop even though I live in NSB..the customer experience was wonderful!
A++++++ kudos to the woman who helped me and my misses and made sure my cut key worked before I left..
p.s. no GEN-Z kids working here so that's probably why the customer service is so...
