To be completely honestâŚ. We went there this morning and it was a disaster.
We drove 30min to get there because we felt as if the gym had âitâ together based on pictures and website. When we pulled in the parking lot we thought for a second that we were walking in to a place where a CrossFit gym was just a fill in class to a fitness facility. But then we pulled the door handle and couldnât get in. Blew our mind. We filled out the appropriate forms online last night.
One of the âfitness centerâ members luckily walked out and we asked how we get in. He said âwe get in trouble if we let you inâ. Again, mind blown. As he walked away a vehicle drove by and he said âthatâs the owner, follow that carâ. So we drove around back and found another entrance that said to check in at the desk. We would have, but the front door is locked. So I ultimately just pulled the handle and was able to walk in. I walked in the door and stood there for several moments, got some looks from the members like âwho is thisâ. I could see the coach but was never welcomed in. So I walked outâŚ. Only to think to myself that this is not the CrossFit community we so love. Reluctantly I decided to walk back in and asked the member if a class was getting ready to start. I seemed to interrupt whatever she was doing because with an annoyed response she said âyeah, in a few minutesâ. I stood there looking around as my wife was in the car. Finally the coach saw me and walked over. I told her about we were signed up on line but she didnât seem very informed about the process. We decided to just check out a different gym.
It was just all in all not what CrossFit is about. We travel a lot around the country and our favorite thing to do is drop in. This was probably our least favorite experience to date. This might be one of the reasons there are only 3 people...
Read moreBack in August (2022) we (my wife and I) had decided to join a gym. Crossfit was not on our radar at all. After meeting with the staff here and seeing a class in progress we decided to give it a shot.
This was one of the best decisions we made, the trainers are fantastic regardless of your athletic level. They teach proper fundamentals and techniques. They push but never at the expense of an injury.
Most of all the people in this Crossfit box are a 2nd family. We all push each other to keep moving, go longer, go bigger, and be better than we were yesterday. To us this is what makes coming back 5-6 days a week worth it. No matter the day we have had we know our Crossfit mates have our backs.
If your contemplating getting back on track and becoming the very best version of yourself I highly recommend Edgewater Crossfit. Hope to...
Read moreI started crossfit because my wife was going and she thought I would enjoy it. It's been a couple of months now and I absolutely love it! The coaches are fun, motivating, and create workouts that allow you to tailor them to your specific level. The even better part is the class is one big family. Sure, we compete amongst each other, but we also support one another, cheer each other on, and on those difficult days when you just don't think you can do it, someone is there to push you and help you. This is the type of class that you actually look forward to, even if it seems like hard work. How much does it work you out? Well, I'm down 25 pounds and almost 4 inches in my waist. More importantly, I feel stronger, have better aerobic conditioning, more flexibility, and just feel healthier. Come join us, you won't be...
