We had a terrific experience getting my great-grandmother's hickory reading chair reupholstered at Bak's Upholstery. My mom was able to find a lovely fabric among their samples and Moon Joo was very helpful in identifying what needed attention to bring this 1920s-era antique back to life. The customer service was excellent and professional, we felt very comfortable leaving this beloved family heirloom in their care; it's always nice to do business with such kind folks.

As promised, a few weeks later and our chair is back- better than ever! It looks and feels amazing; we can scarcely believe it's the same chair. The detailing on the buttons and deep channels of the chair back must have taken the patience of a saint, but they look just perfect. We were very pleased with the artistic swirling of the fabric to the buttons on the armrests as well- just beautiful! (We almost to hide them with the matching armrests!) The seam work is very tight and straight over the entire chair and the reconstruction of the seat support has made this chair far more comfortable than any of us remember. Moon Joo said it will be good for another 20 years, but we feel he was being modest and his handiwork will last far longer than that!

Mr. Bak and his team are fantastic! Fifteen years ago I bought two fabulous Stickley couches from Sheffield’s in Malvern. They’ve served me well despite my children trying to destroy them, but the time had come to either reupholster or replace them. I found Mr. Bak through a family member, and I am so glad I did.

My couches are FABULOUS again, and I am looking forward to another 15 years with them. Yes, it was spendy, but he has beautiful fabrics to choose from and I know it was less expensive than buying a similar quality, beautifully upholstered new couch.
