It's not the industry that's leading to Gamestops closing everywhere you look, it's the company itself doing their worst to retain customers - I had to come here for a preorder I made at another store because I found out days before that it was permanently closed so I called around and confirmed these guys had it. Whenever you do show up, it's always either the same guy who spends 10+ minutes of your time showing you his triple-jointed fingers from that accident he brings up all the time or the person who was just rude to me on the phone because I had to confirm that they were still doing that "sorry you paid for it already but if you can't get here in 48 hours, we're selling it" because they're just so, so busy and really need that inventory, right? Man, I showed up to the one by the Target that closed (the one that didn't notify anyone about their missing pre orders) and they had a scooter in the middle of the store for no reason. The guy at the counter who would hold me up for 15 minutes to talk about his watch collection didn't know why either - it was just there one day. He was let go because he legitimately forgot to open the store once, ironic for a watch guy, huh? Anyway, I'm a night auditor sans car at the moment and I have an order to pick up in 5 days so, you know, wanted to make sure my copy wasn't going to the only other super creepy guy in the XXL sandals I see loitering when I get there because I wasn't going to make it until 3 days after. It was like pulling teeth to get more than a grunt of an answer from the guy (never gave his name). I have one other pre-order but I'm transferring that balance to the first and then never doing business with them again (been a member for a while now but only because I wanted to keep as much of the in-person retail thing going - that's on me). Chiefly because I don't know if they'll even be open in a month but mostly because I'm sick of knowing more about games than the people who begrudgingly work there since the call centers fired them for their hygiene. We get it, you're having a bad day every day but if I acted like that to a guest at my job, I'd be fired. That guy was probably the 6-hours a week region district manager anyway. Not going to miss this...
Read moreAlmost a year ago I had purchased the Master Chief collection white Xbox One with a warranty through GameStop to which i was told that if anything happened to it I could replace it no problem. Well in March I started seeing familiar signs since this was my second Xbox One (the first one stopped reading disks) and I started talking to the manager about the white Xbox One that was launching this month. He told me to bring everything in once it's released and they'll swap it out no problem. Well when i called this week to find out what exactly was needed the SGA (Senior Game Advisor) or ASM (Assistant Store Manager) not sure which said that they had to give me the GOW version but didn't provide a rationale for it except for that "he was told this". A little confused I ended up speaking to two other stores that were not close to me at all which they said they could exchange it no issue. So I went to the Danforth & Sante Fe store in person to try and see if it could be done but I was told No and given no real reason as to why. I drove to the Rockwell and Expressway store where I had previously spoken with Terry and he took care of my issue flawlessly. I worked for Gamestop and NEVER treated any customer like this but it seems that this store doesn't really care about their customers that much anymore because this isn't the first time I've had an issue with this store but it is the first time I'm posting about it. I'll never go back into the...
Read moreMy journey began when I was trying to sell my cousins Xbox 360 for him while he was deployed. There was many games that were "hot" on the market. I called up there while playing a game and I was asked to be put on hold. so I continued to play my game and I lost track of time and I gazed down at my phone and 45 minutes showed up as the duration of the call. I didn't know business was cunducted this way at that establishment. I called back furious but kept my composure and they offered me 30$ for the Xbox with all the chords and remote controller. the games I named off they would buy off me for 5-7$. Next time you try to screw me give me some lipstick first because I like to look pretty when I'm...
