We have been here several times, and each time they have tried to be sneaky with their prices by the way they ring things up. If you notice your bill, each item will be more expensive than what is on the menu and they blame it on their system. we pointed that out the very first time we came in that was a year ago. They still never made the change on their menu. If you add any sort of customization to an item, they will ring it up the most expensive possible way, and then they get defensive with you when you point it out. Just now I ordered a shrimp quesadilla made like their fajita quesadillas, which has bell peppers and onions instead of just shrimp and cheese. I also asked for a side of cilantro and a little extra cheese. They rang me up for a fajita quesadilla and added $7 worth of shrimp, over $3.00 for the extra cheese and $1.29 for cilantro. My $16.99 shrimp quesadilla with extra cheese, cilantro, onions and bell peppers came out to be $28.00. When I pointed it out The server got argumentative and then went and got the manager and he got argumentative and then he came back and said he took $2 off and said that the onions and bell peppers cost $8 because theyâre so expensive to buy. This kind of shade has happened all three times now. A shrimp quesadilla, kids taco / burrito and three phili tacos with one margarita and one Pepsi cost $115 with a 20% tip. Go to uncle Julioâs or anywhere else. Itâs either cheaper and or tastes better. The food here really isnât even that good. Their queso, chips and salsa are really good and the highlight. The guac doesnât have any lime or cilantro, or enough salt in it. It is...
Read moreThe food was pretty decent and the margaritas were dang good. About what youâd expect from a small Mexican food restaurant ($13-$15 range per plate) My biggest complaints are all around pricing and service. There were quite a few open tables, so not overly busy, yet our server acted very put out by any of our requests. Like refilling the chips. We paid for queso and tortillas because they arenât complimentary and we wanted more than the tiny basket we were given for a table of 4. Last little hiccup, I guess our server was done for the day because she just left and had the busboy close out our ticket. I worked in restaurants for 10 years, you talk to your tables before you leave. If you donât like it, go to retail. âServiceâ is the keyword in food service.
Hereâs where I knocked two stars off. On the menu, it says 5% discount for using cash, which in my mind was a plus for the next time I come in since I donât normally carry cash. (Even though itâs a red flag for businesses looking to evade taxes). Then, here comes the bill with a 4% charge for using a credit card. I mustâve missed this bit of fishy business on their menu. I wouldnât have even eaten there had I known they do something like this. Even if itâs a few dollars, the principle is that I would have gone to a different restaurant that doesnât nickel and dime patrons.
TL;DR - just an average Mexican restaurant that charges for every little thing. You can go to Tedâs, not far away, get the same food at the same price. Plus complimentary chips, cheese, and tortillas. Then pay with whatever you want and not pay a fee for...
Read moreI donât know how long your restaurant has been open in Edmond, but a friend took me there yesterday for dinner. I have never written a rating before, but I must say I had a beef burrito with sour cream, retried beans, guacamole salad and I think it was the best Iâve ever had. We have quite a few Mexican restaurants in this area, and weâve tried most of them, but Cantaritos, in my opinion, is the best by far! I hope you maintain your high quality ingredients and combination of those ingredients to this standard! My meal was large enough I needed to bring some home. I just reheated and had it for lunch today and it had lost none of its taste! We will be back! Thank you So much for opening Cantaritos here in our town! Sincerely,...
