This may be the biggest fail I have experienced at an establishment with already excruciatingly low expectations.
We approached the drive through speaker, and we were asked to hold on. No problem. The one other customer probably did ask for something tricky. A few minutes later, we were up. Exciting! We asked for some food, had some back and forth, re-explained as needed, and successfully placed an order. We pulled to the window, and someone took our payment. A bit later they gave us our drink. That’s when it went more or less off the rails.
After about 5 minutes of car chillin’, a new KFCer, we will call him Sherlock, came to the window and asked, “Are you waiting for your order?” This wise young gentleman had deduced why our presence was lingering.
We replied in the affirmative.
A few minutes pass.
Sherlock came back to the window and asked us to pull around to the front of the KFC to wait for our order.
We obliged.
After quite a long time, our oldest suggested, “Should we go in and ask them where our food is?” Great idea.
I walked in, and Sherlock eventually greeted me. “Can we help you?”
“Yes, I am out front waiting for our order. Is it almost ready?”
Sherlock was perplexed. I had just walked in, yet I was saying I had already placed an order. Maybe all of his customers look the same to him.
He searched hard and found the one open receipt on the order counter. “Oh!” he said, “We’ll get that for you.” It was evident that had we waited in the car for our order, we would have been left to starve.
“What kind of chicken did you want?”
The receipt must have been in another language.
“Extra crispy please. But, at this point, whatever is easiest.”
A female KFCer hidden in the back, presuming I was a threat to the enterprise, cried, “What did he say??!!
I explained calmly but loudly to make sure the hidden lady could hear, “I’m in a hurry now, so really any style fried chicken that you have will work.” Again, low expectations.
To not belabor this more, they started our order, accidentally gave us our drink again which I guess was a bonus, and eventually brought the food to me.
Like the Very Hungry Caterpillar when he ate junk food, everyone who sampled the KFC order had stomach aches that night.
I hope this helps someone make a better decision...
Read moreWell i had a really bad experience November 27 where i waited in line at this drive through on 2 different Occasion's in one evening. The 1st time I waited in the drive-through line about 20 minutes I decided to go get gas and come back the 2nd time I waited quiet while again and then was told that they had no original recipe chicken and I would have to wait 20 minutes when I tell you the drive-through line was not moving at all the 1st time I mean not an inch it wasn't in fact I had to back out and let cars in front of me pull out because that to slow the drive-through us I ended up going to another Kfc that night in Edmond And when I got home to chicken from the 2nd location was inedible what was supposed to be original recipe was burnt and drenched in Grease.. To my surprise a couple of days later on December the 2nd I received a phone call from the manager at the location on Danforth, He stated I could call them anytime and get a replacement for my 16 piecemeal and that he was sorry about my experience I don't remember his name he had a heavy accent that's all I can remember. So tonight After a very long day I remembered so I have been trying to call that location for the last 30 minutes the phone will ring over and over again and finally they literally just took it off the hook or disconnected at somehow because I have tried to call back 4 times in a row now and it literally just sounds busy so even if you do want your replacement meal good luck trying to order it I'm so disappointed.. an hour later adding on to this review.. my husband goes in.. speaks to the same manager who offered to replace our meal.. and he backed out of replacing the 16 piece meal.. making my husband pay for half on top of...
Read moreRestaurant number J625257 We arrived at 610pm. Our order was placed at 620pm. We waited 25 minutes and when our order never arrived, my husband asked for a refund. Two groups who ordered after us received their food. The manager on duty gave an excuse that it was a holiday but two employees (including the manager) admitted that they put the wrong chicken in for our order. However, the people right behind us had ordered the same meal with exception of coleslaw instead of corn. They never informed us of the delay or offered to bring out the sides. When my husband went to ask about our food and refund, the manager began to argument with him and told him he should " just be patient. " He never apologized for the delay but acted like we were in the wrong for asking for a refund. We will not be returning to this store. During the wait, we also encountered staff yelling at each other from the back. It was very unprofessional. My husband and I worked in fast food for more than 7 years, we know this is unacceptable. On top of this, we had our children with us. They should not have been subjected to...
