This was our families first time eating here. From the time we walked through the door to walking out, it was a fantastic experience!! Our 8 year old daughter loves to check us into places and the hostess was so great with her! Our daughters name is Madison Grace Brown and the hostess was kind and smiled at her and called her name when it was our turn to be seated. This was huge right off the start! Thank you!! It made her day!! Even though it was a busy place our wait was only about 3-5 minutes for a family of 5! A nice young man seated us and welcomed us as it was our first time here. He laid out each of our menus and silverware rolls in front of us, not just putting them all in a pile in the middle for us to grab. Small but great detail-the napkins were folded over the silverware sides that you eat off of!!! I hate germs and this made me so happy to see!!! Thank you!! Excellent detail!! Also, the tables were nicely spaced out so visiting with our family wasn’t an issue. Well done! Alexander was our waiter, he was so friendly and took great care of our family! He was helpful with the menu and answering questions. He recommended the sticky bun and oooooh my gosh, it was truly amazing!! YUM! Alexander never let our drinks get down below half empty before he would bring a refill. He didn’t pester us or overstay with us but did a perfect job serving our family! He was attentive and had a great presence about him. We enjoyed his company and will ask for him every time we come from now on! Thank you sir, you keep doing a great job and keep being you!! The food-oh my goodness!! The menu has something for everyone. The food came out pretty quickly and looked nice on the plates, not rushed or just thrown on them. The portions are big and everything was cooked perfectly!! It tasted so good and was hot and fresh and seasoned well!! The eggs were not runny, scrambled were perfect! The bacon, perfect! The Titanic omelet-YUM!! Thank you to the cook(s)!! You did great! This restaurant was a breath of fresh air and seemed like the only one not ruined by Covid. We have found our weekly spot and are SO happy we gave it a try today! Thank you all!!!! See you next...
Read moreAfter running a few errands this morning, the wifey and I decided to enjoy a nice breakfast at The Big Biscuit. I'm just going to say it from the jump. The food and service here, in my opinion, are nothing short of AMAZING! Now, you're probably wondering why I'd only rate 4 of 5 stars for a place that I found to be so amazing. Let's take it from the top.
Upon approaching the entry way of The Big Biscuit, staff opened the front door and greeted us. That's always a good start. We were immediately led to our table and and then greeted by our waitress, Leslie. She was very kind, with a side of charm.
I ordered our drinks, and practically salivated over the delicious choices of food on the menu. I won't speak for my wife, but I ordered the Country Fried Steak and Eggs Breakfast, along with the French Toast a la carte, which Leslie recommended. You really get your money's worth. I loved the portioned sizes. The country fried steak was o-so tender. The scrambled eggs with cheese were delightful, and the hash browns were on point. And Lord have mercy, Leslie was right! That french toast was mouth watering!
Speaking of Leslie, her service was excellent. She made sure our drinks stayed topped off, our tables remained clean of finished plates and our food was to our liking. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah! You still want to know why only 4 out of 5 stars, right? Ok, here it goes. If I could make one suggestion, it'd be that The Big Biscuit provide more of a variety of options for those that may not eat pork, due to their faith. The country fried steak was DELISH! But I bet it would've been AWESOME, had there been a choice of gravy other than that which included pork sausage. I also might've ordered bacon or sausage with my breakfast, had there been a turkey substitute available as an option. Just something to consider.
However, other than that, everything else about The Big Biscuit was exceptional, and I'd highly recommend this location for your dining pleasure. Thanks for...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place, but left in disappointment. The hits: Service -We were greeted immediately upon entering and server greeted us shortly after sitting down. She was tentative and checked back during the meal. The tables were bussed quickly and I noticed the other servers were doing a good job with their service to tables as well. Atmosphere -the pictures were black and white from Edmond's old history and it had a modern feel of urban/metal that alot of restaurants are doing now adays. Note....I didn't get the coffee, but every server greets your table with a carafe and mugs if you want it. This is a fabulous upsell for the company. The carafe stays at the table.
The Miss- Food-i had ordered the country Benedict. Open faced biscuit with scrambled eggs, protein, and sausage gravy and your choice of potatoes (hash brown or breakfast) The biscuits are wide, but not tall. I took a picture with my hand so you could see in comparison. The biscuit consistency reminded me of a McDonald's biscuits. It wasn't crispy buttery like theirs, but the inside is very similar. The gravy was forgettable. Definitely not homemade. The bacon was thick and cooked well. The eggs...I don't know if these come already scrambled in a box and you pour out, but it tasted similar. They didn't have that egg taste. The breakfast potatoes, my daughter described them best. A steak fry cut into small pieces. No seasoning, no onions, peppers, literally a steak fry cut into pieces.
I felt like this was very much a cookie cutter that cut corners to get every restaurant (since it's a chain), to taste the same.
On another note, my daughter's sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were just hash browns. Decent.
Would I come here again? No. Not because of the service or atmosphere, but because of the food. It was just, basic in...
