On this day, my doctor sent an e-script to this pharmacy around 11am. It was sent to this pharmacy specifically because they had the medication in stock. It was sent via e-scribed to Walgreens EHT. I went into the Walgreens to give them my insurance card information and to make sure my phone number was up to date in their system so that I could check on the status of the prescription. The Pharmacist took my insurance cards and updated my mobile phone number. She also stated that she would have to "drop" the medication and asked if I needed to wait for it. I let her know that I could come back and pick it up once it was ready. At this point, she signs me up for mobile text messaging alerts so that I could come back and get the prescription. I did not receive a text message that night and tried to use the automated system to look up the prescription. The next day, I called the store since I had not been able to check the status of the prescription as it was not recognizing my information. The person on the phone told me that there was no prescription present. They had my insurance information, but there was no prescription there. I assured them that I was there, in-person just yesterday and the pharmacist confirmed the medication while I was there. The person on the phone told me to contact my doctor to resend the prescription. I contacted my doctor who informed me that they sent the prescription yesterday around 11am and I was marked as sent. The doctor's office called Walgreens to inquire about the missing prescription. Walgreens informed them that the script was not there and that alas, the medication is gone and they can no longer fill the medication. This medication is on national backorder and it has been an ordeal to try to get it filled. I am writing this review because of my concern that someone at this Walgreens DELETED the prescription or decided not to fill it. I want to know how the prescription was magically there on September 18th but was not there September 19th. I'd also like to know what the follow-up procedure is when this happens. This cost me a considerable amount of time and money given that they did not fill the generic prescription and I had to get a brand prescription which was not covered by my insurance. There is a blatant communication problem with the receipt of the prescription, and I would like to know if there is any information as to when the script was electronically sent and if there is a problem with their ability to receive prescriptions or if they decided which ones they were going to fill. This also seems like it could be a cash money grab to force people to get the brand of the medication which again, is not covered by all insurance agencies and would significantly increase the price for the...
Read moreThey were prompt, friendly, and had my online pickup order bagged and ready to go in less than 10 minutes! This particular order was placed very close to closing time (12 midnight) and they kindly let me know that the order was scheduled to be picked up first thing in the morning on the following day but because the pickup person was almost there and they had already started the process of getting my order together, they said they would finish it quickly so that I'd have my entire order before closing time and that's exactly what happened! Additionally, I sent a friend to pick it up and I like how they require you to disclose the name and email address of anyone, aside from myself, who'd be picking up the order and then upon arriving, they ask for the code that was sent ahead of time to the email address given by the account holder. Of course, this is in order to prevent unauthorized people from picking up the order. Very fast, friendly, secure, and efficient. Walgreens-Ocean Heights Ave...
Read moreThe 5 stars go to Amber, a pharmacy tech. She is amazing, kind , and professional. I was waiting for my mom's prescription , she told me that insurance companies will fill it early, and she ran back and had it filled. While she waited on me, about 3 people walked up with questions, Amber was polite and helpful, and at the same time she handled the drive through customers. I have never seen a person in action like this, she needs to become top management, and show the rest of the staff how it is done. She was more visible and on hand than any other manager, which I have met, or any other employee that I have ever dealt with, overall a great store, good employees, BUT Amber needs to be in charge!!!!!!!!!!!
Just when there again, 4/16, the same Pharm tech was just as amazing, and a young lady at the front of the store was so kind , sweet and helpful. I left there happier than I walked in. Wonderful...
