We stayed @ Desert trails RV in December of 2022, for 3 weeks. The location is good because it's right in town with easy entry and exit. We don't golf so I can't comment on the golf course. This resort is in extremally bad shape, the washrooms & showers r in need of demo & rebuild, discussting. It seems the ownership and the managers want to make this resort into a trailer park with just long-term residents only, they are not putting any more money into it and everything is just a rundown mess. There is no security, the streets are paved but the sites are gravel and dirt and most of them are unlevel. On the website they advertise that there is cable and Wi-Fi the Wi-Fi only works if you go to the office and sit in the office or just outside the doors that's it there is no cable to get cable they wanted to send us into town to spectrum and pick up our own cable and then you need to take it back but they will cover the cost for you. Basically you're singing for your supper. Do not waste your money or your time making a reservation and staying here you will most...
Read moreWe made a pitstop here with our motor home, on the way south. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, but honestly? After the first day the smell from the feedlots started "wafting" over us...unreal! To be fair, this park does have an attached 9 hole, par 3 golf course, which we played, and it was fine. A little rough, but totally playable, even if we were held up (by two empty holes!) by the "good, ole boys" SLOWLY meandering ahead of us. Upside is we got to meet and talk with the group behind us (on EVERY HOLE!)!|This park is an older park and nothing against that. People were very friendly. Even the staff were great...until we decided to leave early. After day two we couldn't/wouldn't stay because of the toxic fumes from the feedlots. Although there were TONS of available spots, management refused to refund our last day. And I understand that is their policy, maybe especially when their park is full, but good "customer" policy would be to refund. It sure wouldn't...
Read moreWhen I called about reservations they said just come in, they had space and it would be 45 dollars per night. But their website said they had electric and water sites for 37 dollars. So I called back and they said those sites are just back-ins in a gravel lot. That was fine, as we were just there for an overnight. The service at the front desk was pleasant. The back-in sites are 30 amp only. But they’re spacious and very easy to get into. It might be best to just call and ask about availability, rather than making reservations. If you cancel a reservation for any reason at all, they will charge you 160 dollars! If you plan to spend some time here, they have amenities galore. And the El Centro area has things to recommend it. It’s 52 feet below sea level and within driving distance of the Salton Sea, a hot spot of bird watching. Desert Trails RV Park even has their own Golf Course. And it's easy to get to from...
