Panera Bread — Restaurant in El Centro

Probably one of the worst experiences I've had at Panera. At no fault to the young man at the register. Poor management! There was a long line and only one VERY NICE young man working the register while the incompetent manager did who knows what in the back. By the time I finally got up it was now after 11:00am. I was unaware and began to place my order for 2 Sausage Breakfast sandwiches, and a Spinach and bacon Souffle with drinks to go. The manager was clearly not doing her job since at the moment of him entering in the last item, she comes over and leans in towards him and says no more breakfast and changed the menu in front of me. No apology, not even a glance at my extremely irritated family. I think the delivery was the most disappointing part. I did not rate the food since we left. There was nothing on the lunch menu we wanted to eat after that frsutrating experience. The young man at the register should be made the manager instead of that inconsiderate person in charge. I rarely write a review that is unfavorable. People can have bad days and I can appreciate that, however when you are a manager it is YOUR JOB to manage your restaurant and resolve unhappy situations, not create them. DO BETTER!! We expected everything to be overpriced. A cup of soup for me, 2 kids meals, one YouPick2, and it was still nearly $50 for our family of 4. Then the cookie disappointment - we bribed the toddlers with cookies if they had enough lunch, but we didn't expect the $4.50 pumpkin shaped and decorated sugar cookie to have lemon icing. Kids spat it out, and all the adults knew something was wrong about the cookie too. Not marked - we had to ask to find out why it tasted so bad. What a waste of money. Also, the chicken salad sandwich had one bite worth of chicken on it - they loaded the bread with tomato and lettuce, and the hint of a scoop of chicken salad seriously only had one piece of chicken. This was absolutely the worst Panera bread services I've ever received. Took my family for dinner. Lady at the counter messed up three of the five orders. They were out of bread. That's right, a bread place was out of bread. Finally, my young kids wanted chocolate chip cookies that were on display. They REFUSED to serve us cookies because "those are for tomorrow." Why have cookies on display if you don't want to accommodate customers? The manager made us wait for 10 min or more to tell us that he will loose his count!! We are talking about young kids listening to bed service! No mercy for young kids. Just make them cry and be upset and ruin the last day of their vacation. We had to walk away disappointed. ...
