EVERYTHING IāD HOPED TO EXPERIENCE DURING MY FIRST VISIT TO THIS BUSINESS. I am from Marin County. When times were tight my mother Patricia RIP would take her treasured gold/diamond jewelry to San Rafael Loan on 4th st. Unfortunately they have closed after decades in San Rafael so I did an internet search looking for the family owned/honest broker feeling and found just that with my visit here across the bridge in El Cerrito. I did not expect to walk in the door crying but I did. The staff were WARM-FRIENDLY-KNOWLEDGABLE and most importantly HONEST. And as a bonus Vito (employee) knew the father and son who owned San Rafael Loan. Alex helped me and was patient with my anxiety and tears and I was very surprised at what I was offered as a loan; it being much higher than I had anticipated. Things have been difficult since the pandemic began and itās a nice feeling to know there are businessās/good folks who are thinking of community and the people. My mothers treasures are safe here and thatās what matters the most to me. Thank...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA few months back I brought in a Dunhill lighter that was used maybe 10 times in 20+ years (very good condition). The helper took the lighter to the back to determine a value. After 10 minutes, he came back with an offer that I politely refused. I said thank you and left. Well, I decided to use the lighter yesterday and discovered that pieces were replaced with used, blackened ones! And it no longer works! I called the store back and spoke to the same "manager" that changed the pieces of my lighter! He says that he remebers the lighter and that it was used already. Pure B.S. The "manager" is lieing through his teeth. If a manager at Granters is willing to lie and cheat over a lighter, can you imagine the level of lieing and cheating on larger deals? I would really like to speak to Vito or the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am glad that Granter Jewelry & Loans is around. I Just recently found myself short on cash due to an unexpected expense that had come up. I really didn't know what to do. Then I remembered that I seen Granter's on San Pablo Ave., I went in to see what they were all about. I remember that the staff was very nice and very patient with me, (since I had a lot of questions). They took they time to explain how they worked and how they could help me. I went home and brought back to them a camera to use as a pawn. They gave me some cash and that surely helped me! I went back the next week to get my camera back and I thanked the staff. I have a full time job, but even so, sometimes life can throw you a curve ball when you don't expect it and you need cash right away. Thanks Granter...
