Super Slice Pizza — Restaurant in El Cerrito

TL;DR: Great pizza, great guy, great vibes.

I only first heard of this place during a recent ECCC event I attended, but I'm very glad I did. While visiting and waiting for my order of the Godfather item (which is just pepperoni), the owner, Solomon, and I got into a nice conversation. I then discovered that he is currently the only one manning the helm for the whole place for the majority of the week, only receiving a couple volunteers on like two days of the week. Not only that, but unfortunately after running business for 3 years now, he's at the verge of closing his doors due to very little traffic and sales, and he's been struggling to make ends meet for a while now. This has very much saddened me to hear, and knowing that this place is the closes pizza joint to me, I feel very inclined to help him out and see this place continue to do business.

But enough about the man himself. The pizza I received was lovely, nice and fresh, very structured and sturdy, and even re-heats well in the oven. Sol mentioned that he prides himself on authentic ingredients, especially his meats, and that rings true with the quality of the food I've experienced.

I could tell you his whole life story, but I'll wrap it up here. Please give this place a shot. If making this review convinces more people to walk through the door, then that's just what I'll do. The pizza is delicious, the owner is chill, and the place is kept clean too. This man...

I went in yesterday For the 1st time And got a Slice of pepperoni pizza. It was delicious. I love the fact that you can just get a slice and the slice was so huge, 2 people could have eaten it. I should have saved 1/2, but it was so good I ate it all. Next time I'll tell it to have and save half. The pepperoni was very fresh and good and I like the Taste of the sauce very much. The crust was thin and crisp and tasty . The gentleman who served me there, I assume it's the owner, was very nice, helpful , Welcoming , friendly and informative. He answered all my questions. I forgot to ask him if they deliver yet.Someone,maybe him,was advertising by the side walk holding up a sign. Maybe about a week ago. I asked about it and he said they were trying to get that together but I don't know if they did yet. But it's a very convenient location to get to. I thought the pizza was delicious and I hope more people hear about them...

A relative newcomer to the pizza scene, Omar and his staff, are rocking a truly super slice. I was skeptical at first when I was charged $8 for a slice, until I realized that these slices are twice the size of ordinary slices, and they taste really good. The dough recipe here falls somewhere between California and New York pizza, with a hearty wheat flavor that stands up to the sauce and cheese. Think if you crossed the cheese board with Arinell's. Located in the former location of armadillo Pizza, in this Asian mini mall, Super Slice also has assemble-it-yourself model where you build your own pizza, and salads with fresh vegetables and greens, and an ice cream cooler with Ben and Jerry's, Haagen Dass, and more What's not to love? Giant slices, great pizza, cool people, good prices, and a convenient location.
