IHOP — Restaurant in El Cerrito

Disappointing. My "lunch break" did not occur until 8:40pm and I was at the restaurant by 8:45 pm, while I was seated right away, it was 10 minutes before my order was taken and 25 minutes before it was on the serving shelf. Do the math.... 35... THIRTY FIVE MINUTES. The straw that broke the camel's back was the waitress walked into the serving area and turned right instead of left to pick up the food. The manager? behind a partition dicking around with his phone. There were four working tables... and one waitress. The manager couldn't pitch in? I was on my first (and last refill). I got up and walked out. I called the store and the manager apologize.... "come back and you can take your order with you, no charge." How nice... no charge. In that case you eat, because your lack of care and service cost you my business and a phone call to your store's regional manager. Have a nice day. Oh put down that damn phone and do your job. I have dined here twice before when I work evenings and have had an otherwise pleasant experience. I'm in the customer service industry and I know what, how and why to provide stellar customer service. I won't go back to...

We went in today with my wife she usted to work there. The only reason why we went was because it's the ihop that it's really close where we live and she wanted the 3 leche pancakes. We write our name and we arrived first than another party of 3 and they sat them first and they sat us until last. Then Ana wouldn't stop starring on us which made everyone really uncomfortable idk why she just kept looking at us she even would go in different angles I think to get a better view of us, after that we ordered our server really nice and taking care of us. First they brought the food of my wife all wrong she just ate half, after that my order they brought it wrong as well my sister in law her potato were burned from the bottom. They didn't give us a discount we paid full price, also from the kitchen we heard the cook screaming to the waitress which I think is really uncomfortable as well. If i could give them negative stars I would! I just called to order a simple short stack and they have me on hold for over 10 minutes and the time is still ticking as I write this. I usually go to the IHOP in the hilltop area because this location seems to always disappoint me every time I decide to give them another chance. And even though this IHOP is way closer to my house I prefer to take the extra drive and take my service to people who actually care about their customers and assist me in a timely manner. I just thought that maybe MAYBE a short stack to go order would be a no brainer but i guess el cerrito IHOP likes to keep their customers on hold forever until they give in and hang up like I just did after being on hold for 15 minutes now!!
