Vasco Career College — Local services in El Cerrito

Review for my CNA skill test taken 9/13/2025:

I was absolutely petrified, but everyone at Vasco was SO nice. Ms. Bella (I think that was her name?), my examiner, was so sweet, funny, and patient! I tend to shut down when I get too anxious, but having a great examiner prevented that. I am so grateful to Vasco for opening up this testing site. All other sites I saw available were hundreds of miles away. What an absolute lifesaver and just in time for me to graduate my program.

It looks like I passed, but had I not, I would definitely come back.

Testers, just be aware that it is first come first serve. You have to arrive at 9 am no matter what, though Vasco takes 6 test takers at a time in 3 hour windows. Luckily, if you are not in the first cohort, you are allowed to leave the premises until it is your test time.

I arrived at about 8:57 am, the second to last to arrive, so I ended up in the second cohort. I think there were supposed to be 12ish people, but some people disappeared and lunch happened. I think as maybe the 9th person to go, I tested at about 1:45 pm. This actually worked out really well for me because I wanted a lot of study time.

I graduated at Vasco Career College as a Medical Assistant 2021 and i would like to say that im so honored to have been apart of this college. They have the best knowledge of the programs to their best of abilities. The teachers and program director are super helpful they so motivating and inspiring to help you to reach your goals and always working with you. I’m so happy to be a certified MA from VCC which currently has given me a job at an amazing clinic and with all the skills and knowledge I have been taught from this college I’m now able to move forward and have an awesome experience in everything in the health care setting. I highly recommend you to do the same and trust you to will have no regrets. I have learnt so much and they have really inspired me towards my achievements and never gave up on me. Vasco Career College was a great experience! It was an honor to be a student of Mrs. Dru. Not only is she the director of Vasco Career College college, but also the instructor and taught for pharmacy technician class! I’ve had my fair share of struggle in her class but Mrs. Dru was very helpful and motivating. She helped me throughout the whole process from start to finish and made sure I did everything right, from passing the class, to externship, and to applying for the board of pharmacy. I learned a lot within the time frame for the class. I totally recommend this place if you are looking to get in to the pharmacy field.
