HORRIBLE - My cousin recently paid upfront the cost to deliver her baby here and figured it would be a great way to deliver naturally. She was getting contractions so often and went in about 4 times if not more to try to deliver. Each time she was turned away and told that everything was fine and that she still had one more week. she was in excruciating pain and ended up delivering her baby at University Medical Center. Thank God for UMC and their great PROFESSIONAL staff. Her baby had her umbilical cord wrapped twice around her neck and she had already had a bowel movement while inside her uterus. she could have lost her baby all because of Maternidad La Luz. The nurses said we took her to UMC just in time. Her baby ended up having to stay there a couple of days for observation.
To top it off- She went to get a refund for the money she paid for the delivery and they refused to reimburse her. I can't believe places like these are allowed to practice. If you are considering this place check out their facility first it is dingy and cannot be sanitary by the...
English: Maternidad la Luz is a very recommendable place for me and my wife, my daughter was born there a few days ago on December 25, and we are very grateful for the midwives we had, my first child was born in a hospital in Mexico and I cannot compare this experience with that one, in Maternidad la Luz they attend you like humans, although after my daughter was born they had to take my wife to the emergency hospital, but I do not blame our midwives because it was not their fault, and I know they do not work for the money but for the lives, because I can say that is because we went to them with the ultrasounds that we had in Mexico and they told us if that is the way they mentioned in the ultrasounds they could not accept us at Maternidad la Luz because in Mexico they said in the ultrasounds that my wife had too much water, But instead of being rejected they gave us the opportunity or rather they themselves offered us to do other ultrasounds in El Paso with a clinic that they trust and we did it and there was absolutely no problem that they did not accept us, and for the service they offer it is not expensive what they charge, as I have seen other comments mention, because with that payment includes all the appointments, the studies they have to do, etc. Without a doubt if we think about having another baby we will think of Maternidad la Luz even though we have to travel 4 to 5 hours to get there, I don't know how to thank the midwives we had more than to say that Maternidad la Luz (The Birth Center) has our...
Read moreI had our baby November 2013 and could not have had a better experience. Although the midwives missed the actual birth. . . I went into labor so quickly and during that winter storm in El Paso that from the time I called them (We decided on a home water birth) and the baby was born it was only 40 minutes. We didn't even get the air in the pool much less the water. So even though my husband and I delivered our baby girl the midwives came about 10 minutes later and all was right with the world again. They did all the cleaning, trust me lots of blood on the carpet. They did the laundry, helped me shower changed all the sheets and left us feeling secure. Our midwife came back the next day to check on me and the baby and made sure we didn't need anything before leaving. Our appointments were always long in a good way, they never rush you out, any question you have is always answered. We just loved this place and our midwives. We couldn't have asked for a better set of ladies to go through this journey with my...
