Waste of time and money! Cold, soggy food AND wrong order! Hold on, let me tell you… we are Military Members currently at McGrecor. (If you are a Service Member DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!) We placed an order for 4 people at 5PM…don’t forget this part, 5PM! We were told the food would arrive in 1hr 30min. Being understanding, we allowed until 7PM before calling to check where the food was. At that time they answered us saying it would be arriving in 15min. We waited until 8PM before calling again. At that time we were told, “there are other orders coming in, we’re making all of them before brining yours,” which we voiced our concern about our food being cold/soggy. Haha the false promises of, “it won’t be.” Well it was. The food was INSANELY SALTY, like not even edible. We called again explaining how we were so hungry because we didn’t go to the DFAC to eat their food. If we could please have a refund or if they could replace our meal. We were told on the phone by the worker, “your order is right and of quality, I don’t know what to tell you.” Hah, don’t know what to tell me?! We asked to speak to the manager who said he would not refund us. We came to an agreement that new food would come. Lol. What a joke. They called at almost 11PM after everyone was asleep. So those reviews you read about 3hr, 4hr, 5hr, 6hr waits…yeah they’re true. Once again, don’t wast your time or your money and If you are a Service Member DO NOT...
Read moreI have not tried the food, but the ordering system through their personal website, phoenixpalacechineserestaurant.com, is a bad site. I have order about 2 hours ago, but my food as not arrived. I called the place and confirmed that it'll be ready in 30 minutes, but it has not arrived yet.
Will change if I do get a chance to eat, but I do not recommend their personal website on their to go menu.
Update: Deliver came after 3.5 hours. The food was generous for the price, but I am unsure if this is due to compensate for late delivery. The taste was good for delivery. Ordered sweet and sour chicken, it had an excellent balance in taste. Was not sure what the golden duck was, expect carefully shredded duck in brown sauce with vegetables. The spicy beansprouts had a good texture, but there were large pieces of ginger to give you an unexpected kick
I suggest to go at the restaurant or plan in advanced for your meals. I do not recommend to order for deliver on whim. Due to this, it have given a 3 star...
Read moreMy mom and I were driving through El Paso and really wanted some authentic Chinese food. This place is real authentic stuff -- at first we were a little concern because our waitresses didn't know any Chinese -- but we asked to speak with the manager.
My mom asked in chinese about what he had on hand for a nice soup and fried rice. And although he isn't very smiley, he was super accommodating and went through his pantry to find some seaweed for us. He made us an excellent seaweed/tofu/pork/egg soup (maybe a smidge too much cornstarch) some fried rice with chinese BBQ pork, and even made some excellent traditional stir fried greens.
It was so much food we only ate the soup and took the rest for lunch (and probably dinner) for the next day. All $24 -- what a steal. Even my mom, who grew up in China thought it was excellent.
I can’t speak to the American-chinese style dishes like kung-pao chicken and orange chicken, but I’d you ask for more traditionally Chinese dishes this...
