Stopped by today after a few months of driving next to it on my way home. I had never tried Filipino food before and I decided to give this place a try. I must say I was not disappointed. I ordered two dishes. The pork adobo and the tocilog. Both of dishes wee very well seasoned. The meat of the pork adobo was melt in your mouth and juicy. The tocilog had a good balance of sweet and sour . Both of the dishes came with a hefty portion of rice and a fried egg on top. The plate also came with 2 Shanghai crispy rolls which are thinly wrapped ground pork seasoned with a nice combination of spices. Very delicious as an appetizer. I ordered both of my dishes spicy which gave them a nice kick but not to overwhelming. The lemonade is one of the best home made lemonades I have recently tried. It is sweet and tangy with some floral notes that I really enjoyed. The owners are really kind and helpful. I will definitely come back and try more items out. I am sure they will be equally...
Read moreWe visited Kanto Fud last Thursday, April 10, 2025 after searching online for some authentic Filipino restaurants in El Paso during our stop over and we were so lucky to met Gilson and his family, owners of Kanto Fud who welcomed us to their unique restaurant. Gilson is a very vibrant and energetic person with a kind heart who has the passion of helping others. The restaurant offers a family-friendly setting and the dishes we ordered tasted excellent combined with the creativity and flavors made exclusively by Gilson and the presentation of the food was absolutely fantastic! We ordered Tocilog, Adobowl, Sisig, Pancit, Banana Bread, and their tangy Lemonade. Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection and the freshness of the ingredients was bursting in flavors. Kanto Fud exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be coming back! We highly recommend this restaurant as the service was impeccable from start to finish. Thank you, Gilson and family for a great...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place but unfortunately that is not the case.
Single use dishes are everywhere! Plastic forks, plastic bags, plastic cups, styrofoam plates/takeout containers. Even if you’re dining in- which seems contradictory to being from Manila which is a city on an island. The ocean has multiple garbage patches that are filled with this trash and it takes all of us to alleviate this problem.
They charge $2 for a (plastic) cup of water. It’s not even bottled water! Nor is this charge on their menu which is shady to me.
It was hot in the restaurant.
I couldn’t get the chicken fried rice without chicken, so just fried rice, which lets me know it is already pre-made and not fresh to order.
Please detail the ingredients that are in the friend rice on the menu. I assumed it wouldn’t have cooked purple onions based on the photos in Google and it did. 🙁 But I recognize that was my fault...
