Read moreI’ve been taking my young boys to Coach Shaddock’s classes since November 2019 and we are very happy there! First, you can’t beat the price! He’s always offering specials and there’s classes every night (and days)! Second, Jujitsu is a great option for kids with ADHD and sensory needs — wrestling, gymnastics, and discipline all rolled into one! I was grateful to find a small, locally owned and operated, private gym, as opposed to the huge, corporate type places we’d tried. When COVID hit, Coach never let us down! He came right back with great virtual classes, which were so welcome during quarantine! They are still a nice option when you’re too busy to take the kids or feel like you’re not ready for or comfortable w in-person classes. With the initial reopening he created an outdoor gym/workout, which is still offered and is very cool! Recently, we decided to mix it up and switched to kickboxing — other than outdoor, I feel safest with that option and the kids love that, too! It’s clear he’s staying up to speed on disinfection and cross-contamination, taking them very seriously. They wear their masks, keep small class sizes for distancing, and Coach takes temps and gives them hand sanitizer before and during class, as needed. I know he doesn’t want anyone in our community (or anywhere else) to get sick — in fact, he’s trying really hard to keep us physically and mentally fit — workouts are a great way to safely socialize and relieve stress, and kids have stress too!...
