Dollar General — Local services in Elgin

So, another huge disappointment with this store. Let me start by saying that a lot of the shelves are bare. Next, still very a cluttered and unorganized mess. And finally, the checkout. To little room for starters. But, here is the issue, the "manned" register can only take cash because their system is "down". Now, how can that be since the self checkout takes ONLY cards. If the system was "down", credit/debit card sales would not work regardless of what register was working. Seems like just the unwillingness of the employees, managers, or corporate in general to fix the situation and make things easier rather than harder. Talking about self checkout, I am not an employee of Dollar General so why am I doing their job? I would have gave zero stars if the coding would allow it. Most of the time when I need something specific, and I head here to get it, I find that the most important items on my list are not in Stock, although some of the lesser things that catch my eye tend to be cheaper than the other stores in the area. There are typically carts and dollies scattered around the store with product and merchandise that have not yet been stocked in the shelves, and these carts like to stand in front of the shelves. So it can be a small hassle to get behind these places, simply because of the unfinished obstruction. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! GO TO FAMILY DOLLAR! This is the worst Dollar General that I have ever been to. I go into this store constantly and everyday they are under staffed. The place is a mess and product carts are all over the store. You can’t get through any isles. The employees are rude and don’t care to help you in the store or at the checkout. I waited in line today for 10 minutes before any employee came to the front to check the line of costumers out. I hope that they do under cover boss on this store. I’ve lived in Colorado Springs and Clarksville Tn and this is by far the worst Dollar general I’ve ever been...
