Sylvia, Ben, and Josephine were great. I found this place while frantically looking online for a place to work on my wedding dress in April of 2021. I was skeptical at first because there weren't that many reviews especially on wedding dresses but at the end of the day I can say they made my dress work! I decided to go with them based on the fact they were able to work on this with my wedding just a month and a half out in May of 2021 (not your typical timeline for wedding dress shopping/alterations). I communicated via email after making an appointment online. They were quick to respond.
I bought a wedding dress knowing that I had to let it out (dress was too small as is but the dress had material to make it slightly bigger). Prior to alterations, I couldn't zip up the back of my dress (hidden under the buttons). I bought the dress out of state so I wasn't able to do alterations at the boutique I purchased the dress from - the original store told me about the possibility of making it bigger if I had a good alteration person. Alterations are always doable but letting out a dress is more complicated than if you buy a dress too big and making it smaller. I am pleased to say Sylvia and team made it work for me - I was able to fit into the dress!
This isn't a strike against the team but I did have 2 wedding dress bridezilla moments on the day of my wedding - 1) Stepped on my dress during the ceremony going up stairs multiple times and 2) When I was trying to bustle my dress on my wedding day. NOTE TO BRIDES During my alteration appointment my mom was the only one paying attention to how the bustle works. On the day of the wedding, I was wishing I had my friends with me at the alteration appointment to learn how to bustle my dress. I felt like I was stepping on my dress and having it drag behind me all afternoon on the day of my wedding which was a bit annoying for me. Perhaps it's the fact that I never wear long dresses so I'm not use to the feel but I didn't feel 100% comfortable since again I felt like I was stepping on and letting my dress drag more than I should. If I could do this part over I would 1) walk around in the dress bustled up in the store to have a better feel of what it should be like (instead of just standing on the podium in front of the mirror and not taking my time) 2) take more pictures of what the bustle was supposed to look like - both up close and full portrait view. 3) Have more than 1 person who will actually be the ones helping with the bustle on the wedding day at the alteration appointment(s).
I admit I got my Allure Romance wedding dress on sale (which I was super proud of) but the alterations did cost more than the dress itself. Regardless still happy with my overall decision since I spent less than $1000 on the dress + alterations and was able to fit into the dress on my...
Read moreFirst and foremost, I love wearing suits. And I really do care about how my suit fits. So I’ve been shopping around different brands to get the suit that fits me. Some of the brands are fitting better than others. Yet it’s never been perfect. Sometimes trousers length will be perfect but waist is too big or things like blazers fits well in my chest but arm length is too short, Etc... So I was looking for a custom tailor shop and I found this place after looking at many places. Tbh, I didn’t think that it would make too much difference to get my suits altered. But I was so wrong about that. I took 3 of my suits to get it altered, and the whole experience was amazing. People that own this place are very nice and of course they work with such a great craftsmanship. After I got my suits altered and tried it on for the first time I immediately regretted the fact that it took me so long to find this place. My suits are amazing. They fitted pretty good before, but now they fit extremely well to the point where I would call it perfection. I had somewhat expectations, but it was way beyond of what I was expecting. So after I picked up my suits, I took one more suit and took my dad to get his suit altered as well. I’ve read some reviews are saying that this place is somewhat pricy, but given how skillful they are it is not expensive at all. I would rather pay extra to get it altered perfectly. Not like other clothes, I will wear my suits for years and years to come. So I would rather take it to the people that are amazing at their job. Tailoring is a skill. And sometimes we neglect the fact that high skill should come with the price. With this place’s skill and the price point, it is just perfect. If you never got your suits altered before or tailored before, please try it.
This place is amazing. And from now on I will take all of my suits to get it altered...
Read moreI’m giving two stars, one for a lady that was racist and jokingly laughed in my face after assuming I’m crazy or assuming I didn’t know how hard of a job it is to sow something on. And the second one is for appreciation of the work. I had a uniform I brought in and needed to have a tailor put a patch of a material on it. I went to this location as it was the closest to my house but I will never be coming here again. I appreciate the job done overall, however one flag patch that was sowed on the sleeve was not correctly put as the flags on the other sleeve but they did what they could I guess. It just wasn’t put in place correctly. I’m just wondering why the lady laughed in my face and made faces towards me like I’m stupid. I’m just curious how many more customers will experience what I did.. I hate doing business with people who assume that one is incompetent or doesn’t have an idea something is difficult to do. I was aware of the job and the hard work that had gone into my request but seriously, the behavior is unacceptable for some white European...
