I went to this store on 5/12/12 around 2pm. I was waiting in the credit card only line to purchase my items. The cashier takes a cash payment ahead of me and then walks away from the register while my items are waiting with no indication if she will be back or not. She did not acknowledge that I was waiting. After waiting to see if she would come back, I proceeded to the empty register next to me, which was cash only. I told her that I was waiting to pay with credit card and that I don't know where the cashier went. She rang me up and watched me swipe my credit card. Afterwards, she says no you have to go to customer service. I said I did and the cashier left. She said no. I asked her three times to call her manager and she said no that it is my job to call the manager. The customer service cashier came back and told her to just complete the transaction. She said no, but I had swiped my credit card. She didn't tell my whether my transaction was complete or not nor would she call the manager. She just left me with my cart bagged with my groceries and started with the next customer. I proceeded to leave and she calls after Ā me to say she will call the police. For what? She has not comunnicated anything to me nor called the manager. I have to get loud in the store to find the manager and the manager's customer service is just as poor as the employees. He never apologized or acknowledged that what his employees did was wrong. Not hard to figure out why two of the employees have bad customer service skills. But the cashier couldnāt give me a receipt because according to her the system froze but she told me itās all good. Within 5 minutes the cashier asked me to come back because she said it didnāt go through. Odd because the charge was already pending with my bank. So she asked me to pay again. By Tuesday, I had two charges that cleared my bank. I gave the store a call and spoke to Cathy. She said she will have the owner look into it. Two hours later when I didnāt hear back, I went to the store. I showed Cathy and Gigi my bank account on my phone to show the two charges. They took a screenshot and told me that the owner has to research the charges on their end. Cathy told me that she was going to call me today (5/7). I didnāt hear back. I called them again. It seems the owner hasnāt checked yet. To be clear, itās not about the money. Itās the principle. What would have happened if I didnāt go back? In good faith I did my part. After the 2 previous ownerships the new owner-run Brookhaven Market is nice because the store is cleaner and you can buy organic products at a better price. But one of the cashiers at #2 around 12:30 was very rude. She made a mistake while she input item info during the transaction so I kindly told her the item is different and then she became offensive staring and saying "one second". I patiently waited but nothing changed so I told her there is a price difference between the two items and then she almost yelled at me "finish" staring which means she commanded me to finish payment and go. So I bought the item at half the original price by her insist. As I was paying I just remembered her look that she was the cashier who worked for Vallie and very rude when I bought cucumbers back then. I clearly remember what happened that time. I was buying organic cucumbers and she input regular cucumber in the POS. At that time her attitude was exactly the same as this time. I think when there is more than 1 item code under the same name, that makes her stressed out and if the customer is minority than she doesn't do self-control.
